We tried to hire Jeff to remodel our bathrooms. He gave us a vague estimate which mainly included hefty money he was asking for his own labor as a general contractor without specifying what that would include. For example he had said the tile guy will charge 1.5k for master bathroom without mentioning his fee already includes that. When we tried to get some clarification what that huge cost included, he only insisted my fees are non negotiable and you should work with other contractora! When I told him that it is his estimate being vague, he said he doesn't want to be micro managed! Meaning that for a 30k project we shouldn't even ask what your labor fee which constitutes 50% of your estimates includes. That is micro management! Eventually we got clarification that he has included tile work in his estimate and that he always does ot that way. Apparently we should have known I guess!
What a waste of time! I will reflect this bad experience in my wife's company's portal so people don't waste their time meaning once you got the estimate don't ask anything. Either blindly accept or go to someone else to avoid getting insulted!
