The owner of the company is the husband of a friend with whom I worked and so I engaged the services for some jobs around the house. He, the owner, tiled the floors in my greatroom and on the catwalk. It turns out that the tiles are uneven though he used self-leveling cement as a base. The tiles were not appropriately trimmed to meet the woodwork on the catwalk and I will have to redo them when I sell the house. My major complaint, however, is the shameful work done in the shower. The tiles were thicker and supposedly the heavey adhesive was used but the tiles are all out of alignment. After the wall tiles went up the glass wall/door no longer fit in the opening and so the owner routed a channel down through the tile on both sides of the wall which was very shoddy and uneven. As a result, the shower door was askew. If the top of the door matched the walls then the bottom jutted about two inches into the shower and if the bottom was even with the sides then the top jutted about three inches out into the bathroom. I have had to replace sections of the floor tile since they keep working loose and coming up and today, 3/20/23, I have to replace yet more tiles in different spots for the same reason. I called the owner once--he moved from Illinois to Wisconsin--and was told that I have other issues than his work as it has been over five years. Tile work should last decades not five years. The owner had originally told me that if I did not like the work then he would tear it out and redo it at his expense. I would be glad if he did the demo and left it to me to redo. Also, the price came in way over the anticipated costs--even though I bought the supplies! How does this happen? Avoid this company. I have read the other reviews on different sites and either those are false or the owner finally learned what and how to do what he contracts to do. I have spoken with one other person who also was dissatisfied with the low level of craftmanship and attempts to almost double the initial pricing quote. I would not have written this but this last batch of floor tiles ruined has loosend my restraint. Avoid this company.

Build a frame for my outdoor grill & kitchen out of steel studs, run some electrical outlets & cover

I contracted with this Company to build a steel frame, with electrical outlets, covered in cement board for an outdoor kitchen & grill. This was in 10/18; in 11/18, Mike accepted my deposit & took the grill + installation manual with him offsite; delivered the frame 3/15/19 - 5 months later with a handful of excuses. His labor rate was 2x - 3x the standard rate, but I thought I'd give the Company a try since their reviews were very good. There were many issues with the poor product that he provided & wanted the balance upon delivery - not acceptance! Since he never worked with steel studs before, he made many amateurish mistakes - spot welded joints which disintegrated the steel, electrical outlet "ears" not attached to the frame, cement board pieces not meeting in the center of a stud, entire steel stud frame not level or square and requiring significant re-alignment, he placed 2 steel stud cross-members on the top with the inkling that these cross-members were enough to support a granite top (these required disassembly & replacement with multiple horizontal studs for better support, no cement board placed on the top of the frame to support the granite top, extra 4" black natural gas pipe sticking out of the main run for no reason or purpose & capped off, plastic retainers for magnetic clasps to hold in the stainless doors broken off, Excessive mark-ups for last minute add-on supplies (Mike charged me $115.00 for cement boards + screws when at Home Depot the product actually costs $9.98 each for 4'x 8' sheets of Hardie cement board x 2 cement board sheets + $12.98 for a box of 100 cement board screws should have been $34.00, not $115.00) and, as a last indignation, his trailer gouged a 4" groove on the asphalt apron of my driveway! Mike touts himself as being Certified. That does not permit him to be 5 months behind on a custom job, overcharge the Customer, perform poor work and demand full payment upon delivery when this simple job should have been completed on time and in place and not 5 months later! He learned on-the-job how to build a simple steel frame with electrical outlets and cover it with cement board, on my nickel. He should have refused the job or farmed it out to some other Contractor. I figure that this amateur cost me another $800.00 to fix all of his screw-up's and have pictures of each one of his screw-up's. Also, the grill that he physically took with him chewed up 5 months on my 12-month warranty while it just sat in his garage!
