The Pipe Doc
We had a burst pipe in our concrete sub-floor due to a freeze this winter. Originally, we were going to jackhammer into the concrete sub-floor to repair the pipe and then Kevin, the owner of the Pipe Doc, suggested that we cap off the pipe and run new piping in the interior of the house through the family room. I agreed to the recommended fix and was SHOCKED to come home from work and discover that he and his associates had run the pipe on the exterior of the drywall versus in the stud wall behind the drywall. I had never heard of a plumber running piping on the exterior of a stud wall and would have never imagined that this was even a possibility. Most of the work was done by one his employees and the quality of the work was far below what I would consider a quality job. Instead of using a stud finder to locate studs and avoid them, they simply drilled multiple 1.5 inch holes in various locations through the drywall. They also simply laid the pipe on the floor behind the hot water baseboard heat cover! I then received my bill, which came in above his estimated range, and when I called to voice my complete unhappiness with the job, Kevin stated that he would take me to court if I didn't pay the full bill.
This company is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with and if you value a quality job, you should go elsewhere.
