    clear snow and pave

The Sandman has always been professional and has, on many occasions, gone out of his way to help all he could within the community he also lives in. His crew works exhaustively day and ALL night to get the job done. There are times they can't get to personal homes, if there's a crazy storm, so they can clear businesses first. Many people don't understand their driveway is one of thousands that need to get done, and the Sandman's priority is to clear roads of businesses, organizations, and homes that have paid a contract (rain or shine) with them before the storms have come. THEN if they can get to other jobs, they will, but often El Dorado storms don't let up for all homes to be gotten to. I have a business in the county, and it takes a lot of time to get my parking lot clear. But I understand the situation and wait patiently because there's nothing more they can do. I highly recommend this crew, but people need to understand it's a hard wet snow up here. It takes a lot of time to clear...or find places to put the snow.

    Disappointed-

I recently called Leonard to remove some snow from my elderly mothers’ home in Pollock pines. I live over 100 miles away and needed someone to help her get out as she had the flu and needed to see to doctor to get breathing medicine. Leonard was very nice and asked that I call his wife to schedule to work. I spoke to his wife who seamed pleasant and told me they did not know when they could get to the work but would try very hard to squeeze her in. They were able to send two worked out who told my mom that they could not dig her car out but would still do her porch and stairs. She explained to them if she could not get out there was no reason to only do only ½ of the job. They asked that she call the office and let them know that they could not do the work. They did suggest that perhaps there were some kids in the neighborhood who could dig her out. Wanting to understand why they could not help her (and neighborhood kids could) and wanting to see if I could pay a call out fee (or a tip) for the gentlemen who came out, I called the office. Leonard’s wife answered the phone. I told her that the workers were not able to do the work but I did not understand why. She stated she did not know why she would have to talk to Leonard. Next thing there was dead silence on the phone. I thought that we were disconnected or maybe she hung up on me so I hung up the phone. A few moments later she called back. I was not able to catch the phone right away so it went to voice mail. She asked why I had hung up on her. She stated with a bad hip it was very difficult to go to another phone to make a phone call. I didn’t know that’s what she was doing and that’s why the phone was silent. She also said the berm in front of my mom car was three feet high and they could only dig it out with equipment and the equipment was tied up on other jobs right now. (How would the neighborhood kids do it?) She ended to phone call by saying “so we are not going to be able to help you” not realizing she had not finished hanging up the phone her last word was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. I was stunned- I am still stunned. I work with contractors all day long and I have never had one call me a XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. I believe in forming long term relationships with people that work in the service industry. This was very disappointing. May god bless these folks.
