The contractor started on our home November 2021. Our house was a total rehab job and he clearly told us he could do the job. We gave him over 50 percent of the cost. In the beginning he seems to be working, however some of his help were shady people. Many times he wasn't working on the house. My husband and I live out of town. So we trusted him to continue to do the work. Not much was being done when we would come to town. Again he came up with excuses that he was sick, or had other small jobs, he also had surgery. This past December 2022 he seemed to be working on the house and told us this winter our house would be his main project and would have it done by March. My family and I we in town visiting and we actually helped him remove the debris in the house to his trailer. My son also help him for a day knocking down a wall and cleaned it up. The contractor told us to move forward he needs to purchase all kitchen appliances and a new washer and drying. We gave him a 3,800k check for appliances and he also needed 7k for doors, windows, supplies and we gave him 2 checks for that. Early December he needed approximately 6k for other supplies and to hire help. January 2023 we ask to see the supplies and appliances and he came up with multiple excuses whey they were not at the house. That they were being held a Lowes. A week passed and my husband told him hands down he wanted all supplies at the house. The were never delivered. At that point we had a friend contractor that helped us with completing the main bedroom because for a year and half we have been staying at hotels. At that point the contractor took all of his tools, some of the supplies we purchased out of our house. His trailer was full of debris from our home. We ask him several times to take it to the dump. We he decided to dump the entire load in my yard. Very very bad experience!! He is a smooth talker and we trusted him and actually cared about all of his health issues. We are now out 50k with very little done to our home. A year and a half and we still don't have a bathroom. We will take every action possible. This money was for my sons college because we had plans to sell the home. I would hate for this scam to happen to anyone else. Never trust someone you don't know.

Zero stars isn't an option so I'm did 1 in order to post this - If you want to deal with someone who makes a bad situation worse then this is the man for you. After doing minor roof work George needed to replace the fully functioning gutter HE removed & replaced it with a piece he subsequently acknowledged is defective. It is now 4 weeks after he was notified of the now leaking gutter, he has so far stated on 15 occasions, texts saved, that he would show up to replace it and has yet to actually show up. When confronted he states he is ill, it is too cold, he had a delay due to another job, his truck needed inspection - you name it and he's used it. So until the magistrate steps in I am stuck with a failing gutter creating an entirely new set of issues. He has also flat out refused to provide an itemized invoice, his only copy was a handwritten list in a notebook. There are legitimate contractors out there, this man gives them a bad name.

He took over a year later than scheduled and did not even complete 20 percent of the project. He was sick all the time. Always had excuses not to work. I gave him 50 percent down payment. Then he stated he was sick and needed more money all the time to do work and supplies. He never showed up to work. He turned his staff over 4x in one year and he was the only one left. I finally gave him a deadline after I paid him about 50k over the original 50 percent payment percent of the project. He completed about 15 percent of the work with no supplies. So he again committed a year later than planned to have it completed. he constantly lied stating he had all the supplies and appliance paid and ordered. But he just use these funds for his personal use at my expense. I recently paid him an added 17K. He then told me he had no money to pay a recent employee 200.00 for removal of his construction trailer. I finally called him on the funds and stated to show me at least the supplies. That weekend he took all his tools and even the few supplies that were there and vacated the property, He also took his construction dumpster and unloaded the entire dumpster in my back yard. He abandoned the job. I hired a new contractor and the little work George did, he had to pull down, due to code violation an fire safety concerns. I am out about 56k with this person. BEWARE. He basically is a good talker, con man who will not work and will take as much money as he can get from you and then say GOODBYE, I am hopeful you will read this so you do not get taken from this fraud like i did.
