I am a single parent, this contractor took advantage of that and walked with my money. he did 1/4 of the work, did not pay his workers- who are showing up and contacting me to be paid, he stole my envelope with his licenses, my checkbook, my insurance information, and all his business receipts of my payments along with my house key. He left my house with no kitchen for over a month and a half until I had to hire someone else to do it. I had cinderblock walls with live wires and a 2 ft hole going under my house for plumbing in my kitchen... with is horrific, let alone with a 6 year old. Mike Corey- the "owner/ president" is who my contract was with. He was paid a total of $7,625 for labor. for what he actually "did" if it is even right and up to code, he owes me back over 5k for what he did not do! I purchased all materials myself except for the crown and base molding, the doors and door frames, and a support beam! The materials I bought came out to over 9k, and I am now paying double in labor to continue the project. This man is under investigation, he scammed others, who I am linking both my police report, criminal investigation and civil case with. A doctor and a church, as well as 3 of his workers!! This man has made a habit of scamming people, do not hire him! I am literally left right now feeding m son and I am eating once a day. This man knew I was younger, and a single female! Luckily I paid by check and debit card for labor and materals and can prove he was paid regardless of his theft of my materials. clear intend to defraud all the way!
