Buyer Beware! My experience and opinion of Thomas James Designs is that he over promises and under delivers. Tom came into our home as a great salesman claiming that he cared about the quality of the work he produced and telling us that he values his companies reputation and would be on site overseeing the job if chosen. We hired him to remodel our master bathroom even though he wasn't the lowest bid, because we believed him, at the time, to be honest. To date, it has been six months since he started our bathroom remodel and his work is not finished even though he has received payment in full. Tom was dishonest with us several times during the project, disappeared around holidays and as he took on new jobs, he became less and less interested and available to finish ours.
Due to his improper installation, to date we unable to move forward with ordering glass for our shower door and our investment in tile flooring has reduced us to financial damages as it was installed incorrectly. Although Tom entered into a legally binding contract agreeing to provide a completed service followed by a warranty - he has yet to finish the work in six months time and now that he has been paid in full - he is ignoring our multiple attempts to contact him to do so. We are writing this post, contacting Better Business Bureau and the State to protect other families. We are doing this after trying to work with our contractor for months to just stand by his word, honor his contract and just finish the job correctly. We have first hand knowledge that we are not the only family he is ignoring in our area. This is not a business that is honest or delivering a product or service worth your time or financial investment. Buyer beware!
