If you are looking for a professional, responsive business don’t go with Thomsen. Our house turned out great but the customer service is terrible. Not to mention the now manager of customer service doesn’t let me speak with anyone else to explain what a horrible, dismissive experience I’ve had. You will not be taken care of or heard and they will completely belittle you to make you feel stupid. Don’t let the free sod and sprinklers fool you. It isn’t worth the headache and they are trying to keep up with their competition. But with continued poor customer service, that will get them no where. Save yourself the headache and spend your money where you will feel valued and taken care of.

Buyer beware. The design team is amazing but we have lived in our “dream” home for 6 months and it has been an actual nightmare. Kitchen cabinets still not finished correctly, electrical not correct, and a warranty department that is the absolute worst. Save your time and money. So many issues since we moved in (August 2021) I can’t even list them all. The warranty department never calls back and does NOT fix anything.

We bought a 3 year old Thomen home and have had a lot of trouble with the quality of how the home seems to have been built. All of our windows leak air causing moisture buildup that leads to mold if not wiped down multiple times a day. Already have cracks in the drywall/walls and paint peeling. Moving company damaged the flooring in the foyer and tried to reach out to Thimsen multiple times to find the same flooring and were never contacted back. We did not build with them but after living in an almost new home for a little over year, I would not recommend using them to build and will not buy a Thomsen home in the future if we are looking to move

Anyone thinking of building with Thomsen Homes, don’t let the model homes fool you! The quality in the home you will get will be AWFUL!! Their motto should be “Good enough is acceptable.” Apparently it’s “normal” to have to replace all your flooring, fix half the drywall in your house and have snow coming in under your patio door within 2 months of closing! And that’s just the beginning.... Also, don’t expect a clean house when you close since they only do a “construction clean” and “pick up the large debris.” Well they will push all that “debris” into your vents! We will gladly show anyone pictures (we have over 100) of all the issues we had with our BRAND NEW house that Thomsen claims “were unfortunate incidents.” It took 18 months of fighting to get them to complete their warranty work and that was only because we kept asking them too! The WORST customer service I have ever had anywhere! They did absolutely nothing for us to make us feel better or make the situation right. They will tell you what you want to hear and never follow through so record every conversation! We do not want anyone to have to go through the stressful nightmare we have with Thomsen Homes.

I couldn't imagine a worse "homebuilder" than Thomsen. Nearly two years after moving into our home we're still dealing with and discovering their horrible level of craftsmanship all over our home. I discovered today that our extremely heavy double garage door was fastened to the frame with two bent construction nails. YES, BENT NAILS. I will be posting picture on Google reviews. My family has been at risk of being killed by a large garage door for two years because their contractor ""EZ OPEN GARAGE DOO" was too lazy to use an actual bolt and not designed to be weight bearing. I continue to be appalled at this "builders" level of unprofessionalism and cannot reccomend avoiding them enough!

The design team works really good. When we’re confused at the colors, they figured it out perfect. Before we moved the house, it was clean. They helped us at the every process. There is no issue at the house and everything works good. I really recommend this company. Thank you Thomsen Homes!

Horrible company that hides behind their crappy warranty. I have been trying for well over a year to get them to fix the caving in landscaping around the house. I am still waiting

After about a month of living in our home we started to have issues. Trying to get someone to reply to warranty issues always took way longer then it should. With majority of our issues we were told it would be dealt with after 11 months of living in our house instead of just doing it right the first time.... The walls of our house are covered in patches with the brutal paint job they did and have been told that’s “industry standard”. We are having MAJOR issues. Including our brick columns falling off, walls without insulation and tonight found water leaking in our basement. Please do not do what we did and just go with the first builder we met with do your homework because if I had read some of these reviews before we would have never built with Thomsen.

Our thomsen home was a total fiasco and worse than the lack of quality or customer service was the fact that we had to get a private inspector, a city inspector, a third-party restoration company for BLACK MOLD, numerous subcontractors, and an attorney all involved on our own after paying thomsen for a new house. Bottom line: lots of new pickups and under armor but little to no experience, quality, or customer service. This house cost over double our first home from Eidco and was sadly built way worse than the starter home was! Leaking doors, windows and roof had to be solved by us. Garage is out of square. Door frames were shimmed with lumber scraps so they split and fell down. Interior paint isn't backrolled because it costs too much! Doors were everything from out-of-square, hitting the frame, not latching, to abnormal gaps and air/precipitation leakage. Please do your homework before spending on the biggest investment of your life and if you've already experienced a problem, please don't hesitate to contact the Better Business Bureau and file a contractor complaint with an attorney. Unscrupulous contractors like this make a bad name for all of them!

They did an excellent job from start to finish. The design meetings were very informative and helpful. The design team was fantastic at their job of making our forever home just the way we wanted. When problems did come up they were on top of them to make them right. The sub contractor were fabulous from the framers to the cleaning people. Everyone in the Thomsen office was always very friendly and just made you feel like part of their family. Thank you so much!

Everything stated in Carols review happened to us as well recently. Very bad communication and poor workmanship in many areas. The biggest regret we have yet to chose them as a builder. So disappointing!

Built a house with them and would NEVER go through them again. Communication skills are not there, we would call and leave a message and not hear back for days. They didn't listen to what we wanted and tried to talk us out of a few ''upgrades" that we wanted to do. It was such a headache to deal with them, building a house should be about what the owner wants and not what is convenient for the builder. Also, the people they had do the sheet rock did a horrible job, we have many outlets that have a small space on the side from cutting the sheet rock incorrectly. The electrician they hired also did a poor job and we have had issues with that. Thomsens' didn't clean the house well before closing either, dust EVERYWHERE(which is inevitable with new construction but it was very noticeable that barely any cleaning had been done), windows were VERY dirty and we were told that they would be sending someone to clean up and never did. Bottom line is that Chris Thomsen and his company seem to only care about themselves.
