Jon came to the house and seemed very detail oriented and gave us some really good ideas on the kitchen remodel. Initially, we had no qualms with him. As time went on, we became frustrated at how slowly everything was moving (he was working by himself, which was not the problem), as he did not work more than 5 or so hours a day. We had him do some custom trim, which he spent 3 work days staining and polyurthaning them. He put the trim in, and there were drip marks, air bubbles, and rough edges on all the pieces. The trim he did wasn't flush or level in multiple places, didn't putty nail holes, and there were nails sticking out of trim. We vocalized our frustration about this and other things, and his strategy to fix it was to put a smaller piece on the trim that partially covered half of it (so it's a very visible cover up that looks terrible). The floor had to be redone due to a loose staple coming through the floor. The gas line is through the floor instead of the wall so we can't push the stove back. Everything we asked him to fix he had an excuse for. After the third time of having him come back to fix everything we just decided to be done with him. We asked for a refund and he gave us $30 back. He did a decent job installing the cabinets, that's about it. If you want your kitchen to look like someone did it in a hurry, save the money and do it yourself.
