I'm writing in agreement with jcb and Sandra a on their reviews of this sorry company and Anthony stember. In August 2022 I signed a contract for him to build a vacation/rental cabin in oklahoma and it's been nothing short of a nightmare! I sold my house in texas in March 2023 and was looking forward to him getting started soon but little did I know how disappointed I would be. For over a year and a half this lying scam artist fraud kicked the can down the road time after time stating that he would be out to start my project only to not hear from him 2, 3 and 4 months at a time. To this day he hasn't started and has basically done nothing not even started. The guy is clearly not upto the task and very unprofessional at what he claims to do but he's a professional do nothing guy that's about it. I've run out of patience and officially fired him today and initiated legal action against him and timberkraft to get my down-payment back and go with someone closer in oklahoma and more serious and professional. This guy even tried to make a deal on the contract that was already signed that just shows what kind of sleaze he is! I have plenty of proof in texts of how bad he is so this is just fair warning to anyone who is inquiring about him or timberkraft please please please save yourself heartache and pain and stay far away from this crook you've been warned!!!

Run very fast away from this contractor. Signed a contract for a turnkey in 2020 and gave our 10% and our experience was the same as JCB. We legally fired Anthony and his crew Aug 24 2023. My husband completed the house in 45 days where Anthony would not even give us a firm completion date.

Please “DO NOT” under any circumstances give this man or company any money up front. For those who had their homes successfully built, congratulations, they were probably done in part on the backs of us he took money from prior to your projects. I originally signed a contract with this company and Anthony Stember in Jan 2017. As of this month Jun 2023, my log home is still not completed. For all practical purposes he has abandoned this project. In the past 3 years they’ve only been on site maybe 3 times for a total of 6/7 work days. I’ve been left with rotting floors, rotting black mold, mildew and fungi covered log walls, logs courses that I can see daylight thru, at least 14 leaks in the roof (still one major leak that he was going to have repaired, then ended up telling me to find someone my self) I had to get repaired to prevent further damage. Unpaid subcontractors leading to liens being placed against a home I haven’t even been able to live on. Per the county he completed approximately 43% of the work but took at least double that in draws. He had been totally dishonest with us on just about every phase that they partially completed. He’s told us on numerous occasions he’d have someone on site to start work and after we drove hundreds of miles to be there, no one showed up and no call to explain why they weren’t there. I see nearly all reviews on here are glowing reviews. All posted on here in a few months. Amazing he completed so much work in that time span with his small crews and high crew turnover years after he hasn’t been able to finish our home in over 6 years. I’m also aware of a couple other veteran’s that he also left with unfinished homes as he did us. He informed me a few months back that a contract is only an estimate. So signing one with him may just be considered a formality not a legal document from his perspective. BE AWARE. More to follow…

Our concrete home build took a little longer than we had anticipated, but the home is absolutely beautiful. They really executed it perfectly and it was absolutey worth the wait because the quality is superior.

Stay away from this contractor.. I contracted him to build a 1008 sq ft home in April, 2018. NOTHING has been completed on this house other than he has been over paid in regards to the contract The outside isn't finished or stained and the inside only has studs for the walls. Heating and air is in but contractor for that hasn't been paid for his work. My son wired the house and I paid for all the wiring and the materials. We don,t even have permanent steps on the house and the back of the house faces the river with a good 15 foot drop off the porch with no steps off the porch or porch railings TOTAL SAFETY HAZZARD. Stember nor anyone from his company have been on the job site in over a month and this has been an ongoing issue for the past 16 months. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDER.

I am the project he has in Idaho, you can verify his license here. Where to start. He not only failed to build our log house after 3 years of deceit and dishonesty, he also misappropriated over $100k from our project that he refuses to make right.
The part that other reviews haven't touched on that I will is that he isn't just dishonest and takes people's money, he is an incompetent builder who doesn't understand conceptually how to build a house. Our project almost had to be a complete teardown after his crews left and he abandoned our project. Lots of costly remediation to get the framing into proper shape to be completed. Lots of logwork finished so poorly they had to be completely removed. He does not have a single redeeming skill as a builder. I had this all documented by a professional framing/logbuilding inspector and can provide a report if you doubt my veracity.
Please contact me at 208-920-1958 if you even remotely considering going with this builder. STAY AWAY.
