My air conditioner had been broken since the end of last summer, and we just dealt with it, until this year’s Michigan heat made it absolutely unbearable. The unit wouldn’t cool at all, and I knew we needed help. I had reached out to several HVAC companies for quotes, but I didn’t feel confident in any of them. Timothy Mott stood out immediately, not just for his professionalism and knowledge, but for his pricing. While he wasn’t the absolute cheapest, his quote was fair and realistic, and in the end, I’m certain I saved the most money by hiring him.
The problem turned out to be very difficult to diagnose. Even after replacing the coil unit on top of the furnace (which had a confirmed leak) and refilling the coolant, the system still wouldn't run properly. Timothy didn’t give up. He spent hours on the phone with the manufacturer (Mr. Cool), helping me navigate warranty claims and troubleshoot a complex issue step-by-step. He replaced pre-filled coolant lines, several other internal components, and even corrected a leaking vent pipe and drainage issues — all without padding the invoice.
What truly blew me away was his integrity: he refused to take any payment until the system was fully working. He made multiple trips, worked long days, and followed through completely, all for just slightly more than his original quote, which was already hundreds less than other companies.
He was responsive by phone, punctual, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. He explained everything clearly and gave me honest advice on how to prevent future issues. Months later, my system is running flawlessly, and we’ll be having him back for some preventative furnace work soon.
If you're looking for someone who is honest, skilled, responsive, and fair, Timothy Mott is the HVAC tech you want. I won’t call anyone else.
