Tim promised to do a job for us, but as the job was after normal business hours, asked if we could write him a check for the needed materials. We did so after he signed and dated a note indicating what the check was for and when he'd return. He never returned. I called him several times and was given excuses each time. He cashed the check the same day and has never returned the funds.
