TJ Electrical

I am replying as the co-owner of TJ Electrical. We are a small electrical contractor. I do the bookkeeping and my husband, TJ, is the master electrician. We have worked in this field for over 20 years. I’m sorry that this review had to be put on social media after all these years of knowing JF and her husband. And I hate to have to even respond back on social media, but it was so hurtful. I would like to try explaining our side of the situation. I’m just asking anyone reading this, please take a moment and have empathy for small mom and pop businesses. Reviews like this could literally affect our ability to support our family and children. We really do work hard and care about our customers and the town we live in. #1. The generator was not serviced yearly. It was serviced by Eagle Electric every two years. 2013, 2015, 2017. When the call came in 2018, TJ said the generator would normally be serviced in 2019. #2. Re: emergency call on 2/12/19. TJ did get to the generator the next day. The machine was buried in snow. He had to shovel it out. When TJ left the job site that day the generator was running. He has pictures of the generator and a video showing it was running because sometimes he likes to send that to customers so they can see the work done. #3. It was not a week later, but a month later on 3/12/19 when the generator failed to start. And the customer was right, unfortunately we were not able to get out there right away. We had a lot of work we were committed to do and we were leaving soon for vacation. (It was spring break and is the one vacation we take a year as a family with our kids!) When we got back there was a screaming message on our machine with “f” bombs saying how terrible we were and not to come do the work. I was so upset that my husband called them back and sternly asked them not to call us again. #4. Yes, we did send back a check for the work TJ did. We did it without them even asking us to. Because we cared that they were unhappy that for some reason the generator stopped working again. We take pride in our work and would have gone back for no charge to fix it, but we did not get the chance. #5. TJ has been certified as a Generac technician and has worked on generators for over 10 years. When we opened our business last year, he was so busy that he didn’t have time to take off a week and go out of town to renew his certificate. JF- you are right. My dad, who owned Eagle Electric was amazing. He worked his whole life to service customer’s electrical needs. Sometimes at the expense of his family and health. He rarely took vacations or time off. He often worked seven days a week. He had a crew of guys working for him and ran a large business. My husband, a state certified master electrician, and I worked with him for 20 years. When my dad retired, we did not take over Eagle Electric. We decided to open our own business in 2017 and start smaller. The main reason was we wanted to be able to spend time with our children. Go to their hockey games and school events. However, we do try to service a lot of his past customers. My husband is one man trying to do the work of what used to be multiple employees of Eagle Electric. We may not always get it right, but we work hard and are trying to make my dad proud.
