Agreed upon work either left unfinished. Workmanship was awful and had to be re-done. Finishes and items ordered were either not installed (e.g. cabinet doors were supposed to be glass, final product was solid; no under-cabinet garbage pull out installed as agreed upon; etc. - the list is long) or we were given excuses at the very last minute for why it was not possible. And by the last minute I mean 5 months after the estimated date of when the project would be finished. This was one of the worst experiences remodeling a home I have ever had.

Initially Toby Tyler seemed like an experienced, professional contractor; however as time went on, communication became spotty to non-existent, my calls and texts were left unanswered, work was left undone for almost 2 months, the things we agreed upon in terms of parts of the project that were a priority were not communicated to the crew, and lesser quality materials were used without prior consultation. Toby Tyler’s crew used an electric saw inside my house to cut pieces of flooring, making so much dust that it set off the smoke alarm. They drove their truck across my lawn leaving a huge muddy track, and were careless with my pets resulting in one of my dogs being lost (an anxiety-ridden 30-ish hours, & a trip to the veterinary ER). Toby Tyler Homebuilders had very little urgency or integrity, but lots of apologies & excuses.
