I hired Tom Kaas at the end of March 2012 to replace my roof (shingles, underlayment, any necessary boards, flashings etc.). The job completed yesterday. I am very handy, but I was not confident about my ability to work on the second floor roof. And therefore I knew I needed a roofer. I obtained several quotes and talked to all the potential contractors prior to selecting Tom. Quality of his work and ability shows that he has a combination of excellent skills and experience. In terms of pricing, Tom's proposal was on the low to mid side of the 5 quotes I obtained. The materials he quoted were equal or better than any of his competitors. One good thing about Tom is that he does most of the work himself and thus the person who you meet for your pricing is also the one doing the job. He took his time in doing his job the right way (I can say that because I knew what that was). I highly recommend Tom and will also consider him on other jobs such as, exterior painting, porch construction, window replacement, siding replacement, etc. on my home.
