Tom J. Webb
Owner
My house recently flooded. Per my insurance company, I needed to have an electrical inspection done. I found Webb Electric's ad in my local newspaper (The Leader). When I called and made an appointment with Tom Webb, he told me he'd come take a look at my electrical panel and give me an estimate. His ad in the local paper advertised $165 panel inspections. However, he charged me $422,03 for the inspection. This was the amount the insurance company was willing to pay for the inspection. Shame on us, for giving him that information, when he asked. My husband wrote him a check the day of the inspection. He was very concerned with the amount insurance was willing to pay for the electrical work. When I told him he advertised $165 for the inspection, he said that was a new construction panel inspection fee. Why would a new panel, installed by an electrician, require another electrician's inspection? Thats the counties job. After his looking at the panel, we also asked him for a bid to run 30 amp or 50 amp, for our RV. He said he could run the wire by attaching it to the wall up close to the ceiling and we could build a drywalled box and have it run about 40 feet across the inside back of our house. But the restoration company had already come through and taken out drywall, some complete walls. All the walls on the backside of our house had been removed at least 4 feet from the floor up. We wanted the wire to go inside the exposed wall. After asking him 4 times for the replacement panel quote. He would only respond with, he wanted to speak with my insurance adjuster. Finally after numerous text messages he told me he had left a messaged with my adjuster, he would get me a bid after he spoke with him. I asked, if he was looking for more money than he'd already allowed. He said the adjuster left off replacing the breakers and only has replacing the main 200 amp breaker. I spoke with my adjuster who told me, that wasn't true. Insurance was paying over $3,000 for the job. I then told Tom Webb, not to proceed any further with bidding, we decided to give the job to someone else.
