Fence review. I hired Tommy Mills to build a simple wooden rail fence with two gates. He said he could do it in about a week. He asked for the money for materials up front and I did it Over a four month period (May to Sep), he showed for an hour or two a few times but usually less than an hour. His work is terrible…literally put the posts no more than a foot deep and barely added any concrete. And he never finished. After four months, I still didn’t have the gates and fired him. He claims one of the gates is done but refuses to let me have it. I also ended up having to tear out much of his work and redo it myself. Spent 20 hours over the last two days correcting his poor work. That’s over double the amount of time he worked for over four months. He rarely ever showed up when he said he would, and didn’t have enough courtesy to notify that wasn’t coming. He is a terrible contractor and cannot be trusted. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone. If you do hire him, do not give him any money to buy materials. He will keep it, not provide receipts and screw you in the end. Worst contractor and worst work ethic I’ve ever seen.
