Never again will I even consider “Tom's Inside Out Painting” for any paint job, inside or out, due to the considerably poor workmanship and customer service I received on a small job of painting two bedrooms and a little hallway. As such, I will be informing my entire condominium community HOA and anyone I hear of looking for a painter of the horrendous paint job I received and even more so the appalling customer service!
I had purchased Behr brand satin finish paint (highly rated by Consumer Report and Google) prior to hiring Tom's Inside Out Painting. His painter, Arturo, supposedly painted two coats of my paint on all walls in the two bedrooms and small hallway - excluding ceilings, doors, moldings and baseboards. Within a day of drying, there were roller lines visible and small patches that clearly did not receive two coats. There are actually places that were completely missed – such as the area around the heater compartment and a few of the light switches. The air vents were brushed over while still on the walls with no touch up done to drips, etc. Because he did no masking-off whatsoever before painting, he got paint on my NEW floorboards and trim. When I approached Tom with all my concerns, he made nothing but excuses, i.e., he stated “the Behr brand paint was an inferior paint, and that the painter I had paint my living room prior with this Behr paint had to have added an additive to it”, etc.
I have since had my painter touchup and repaint a wall on another portion of the hall - and I can assure you he did not add an additive. My painter informed me (as well as friends/neighbors) that Tom's company did very poor quality work and that he should stand behind his work. Tom charged me $750 for this small job, and although he continued to inform me he was licensed, bonded and insured, I received no formal contract, whatsoever. As of now, I will have to pay another painter to redo the entire job, including correcting his paint mistakes on my vents, molding and baseboards.
