By Marlon C.September 16, 2021Replace Evaporator Coil$941
My experience with Total Air Care has not been a pleasant one at all! On my initial appointment, the technician did not provide us with call indicating he was on his way. I did hear him at the door bell because I was in a room with a window unit blowing to keep cool. Therefore, we had to reschedule. The second technician called prior to the appointment and arrived on time. He indicated that the refrigerant was low and he added 3 lbs., which cost me $80.00 per pound.
Two weeks later my AC unit was blowing hot air again and the compressor was freezing up. Another technician came out and searched for leaks and it was determined that the Evaporator Coil needed replacing.
First of all, why didn't the prior technician check for leaks? It took another 3 weeks to replace the evaporator coil and I was charged an additional $701.00 for modifications: drain line, duct work, secondary drain pan and float switch. I was there and did not witness any work with the exception of replacing the drain pan.
I spoke with Lacey on Friday, September 10th and expressed my concerns. She indicated that they have to charge for modifications (which I did not witness), but would refund the amount for the secondary drain pan. She told me to follow up with her on Monday, September 13th and I did. I have left three messages and still have not received a reply. I would not recommend this service to my enemy! Awful Customer Service! Haphazard work!

By P. F.September 4, 2021American home Shield hired them to replace the HVAC system.
This is a crap company, but they are smart enough to work to accept the contracts with warranty companies who are infamous for giving the customer then run around. I just paid $7000 for a total HVAC system. Been having problems with the system since the install date. They will not show up on time and no matter when they show up. They will never have the part that is needed to repair or replace the part that they had previously said needed to be fixed. This is a terrible company, they do not work on weekends. I could go on an on, but I will say, hire a local guy who has integrity. This company has no integrity.

Total Air Care and American Home Sheild is garbag. That's way the two partner together. Incompetent technicians. Please don't wast your money on Home Warranty this is scam. Do the math. My brother in law has AHS for 9 years. He paid over 7300.00. Within 9 years tech came out to his home five times. Money he could have saved for himself. Scammmmm!!!!!

We had our repair done by Total Air Care, out of Madison. They did a good job, and they were out here at my house until 1130pm to get the job done right. We were very grateful.

HORRIBLE COMPANY!! Total Air Care has been very incompetent and negligent in repairing my home A/C unit. I have been dealing with the company for nearly a year now. They have been out to my home 6 times within the last month. To date my unit is still not working and temperatures are over 90 degrees easily in my house. They have been to my house about 10 times with the past few months and constantly conclude completely different diagnosis and usually a different technicians every time meanwhile collecting a $75 deductible nearly every time as well (currently with home buyers program who sent out Total Air Care). During the last visit (3 days) ago, the tech stated that I needed a new damper motor replacement however the part would not be available until Monday (follow up repair call at that time was on a Friday). He said he would temporarily fix it until he was able to get back out with the part. He apparently removed a safety mechanism while diagnosing a repair and did not replace it properly, in which my A/C unit (in the attic) overflowed in the attic which caused severe water damage to my ceiling. There was water dripping from the ceiling and onto my carpet and hardwood floors which are now damaged in spots. There are currently water bubbles and numerous brown spots/stains on the ceiling. They had another tech to come out (2 days later) for another repair call and to see the damage. After speaking with a Total Air Care manager today, they refuse to take responsibility/pay for the damage that was caused to my ceiling. This is also possibly an electrical issue. According to the manager at the company, he said because I personally can’t prove or didn’t see the tech remove the part and leave it off, that the company is not taking responsibility for the damage to my home. And again, my unit is still not working. The actions of Total Air Care is completely negligent on their behave. The customer service I received was one of “ole’ well, we didn’t do it so I don’t know what to tell you”. I have called around to other companies for the assistance however no other company wants to be liable for ToTal Air Care’s mess. I feel Total Air Care needs to admit their faults and make it right for their customers. I am stressed, disappointed, and frankly angry about how I have been treated. I have no intentions of ever using their services again and would absolutely NEVER recommend them to anyone at all!

No, I would not. They came out a week ago and my air conditioner is still not fix. The tech never ordered the motor.

Tech did not introduce himself, nor did he speak to me unless I asked him questions. The fan motor on my outside unit would not spin and shut the circuit breaker off. The tech replaced the capacitor promptly, said the fan was spinning niow, and should cool slowly. As soon as he left, the dan stopped turning. I immediately called total air as he was still down the road at the stop sign. The scheduler that answered she could not go against company policy and turn the tech around. Having been without air for 2 days, I insisted on speaking with the supervisor, at which point she said "I'll try".

I had this company come out and the tech broke the fan in the process of replacing the motor . They was 4 hours late after calling me and telling me he was an hour away so I leave work just to wait in a hot house for 4 hours . Then I was told I would have to wait on the part and I would hear back from them first thing in the morning . I never did and I called all day to keep getting hung up on and being on hold for over a hour each time. American home shield is just as bad. They sent them out and I have been calling them all day as well. One I finally talk to a manager with this company he tells me that they can have someone out tomorrow between 12-4 and I was extremely upset and even offerd to go to the local granger to pick up the part myself and all would have to do is send the tech. He also kept saying that my home warrant won't pay for that and I kept telling him that I didn't care that I would pay for the part myself even though his tech broke it and they still want to change American home shield . This company is the worst of the worst . Don't use them!

Do Not use this company unless you want the worst service at a high price and constantly lie to about waiting for parts. Their parts dept. will tell you yes sir it is here but service will keep moving you back because you are a warranty customer. I have never done business with a company run as bad as this group.

BEWARE. This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. They don't show up for scheduled appointments (3 of them). When you call them you are on hold for over half an hour and sometimes you get "disconnected". I would not recommend them. Stay away.

Permits
- Building permit records show that Total Air Care, Inc has worked on 2467 permitted projects.
Technician came to my home to give a second opinion to American Home Shield. To exactly quote the description of work needed, he wrote: "compressor not coming on due to grounded, evap coil also in bad condition". A way more reputable company had already said we needed the entire condenser and evap coil and gave me a fair price but AHS needed a second opinion from one of their co-conspirators. Thus we were out of A/C for 22 days in SE Louisiana (Aug./Sept). That's when Total Air Care sent their report to AHS saying we only needed the compressor for which AHS offered us $767.00, one tenth of the cost of the repair. When the reputable company did the repair, the corroded evap coil had pieces falling off of it as they brought it down from the attic. Total Air Care says they cannot and will not amend their report to AHS. Two companies that deserve each other but do not deserve any of us.
