    complete roof replacement
    $42,000

    I would not recommend Total Construction Inc./Kevin Jackson for any project.

    Total Construction began replacing the roof on my home on March 24, 2024, and completed the project in July 2024. However, in April 2024, I noticed water running down my walls and immediately contacted Mr. Jackson about the issue. By May 2024, it was literally raining inside my home, causing buckling walls in several areas.

    Mr. Jackson attempted to address the issue by bringing in fans and blowers to dry the affected areas and plastering the damaged spots. However, the problem persisted. After hiring an independent expert, I learned that the dormer and flashing were likely the causes of the leaks—something Mr. Jackson later admitted as well. Even after reworking those areas, water continued entering the home. A moisture reader test confirmed extremely high moisture levels throughout my home.

    Mr. Jackson’s next attempt to fix the issue involved more fans, blowers, a dehumidifier, and running my air conditioning on high. While this temporarily reduced some moisture, the leaks returned with every rainfall or snowfall. Despite paying $42,000 for this roof, it continues to leak. As of February 21, 2025, I am still fighting for a refund and proper repairs to my home’s interior.

    Negligence & Poor Workmanship
    Throughout the project, Total Construction Inc. demonstrated carelessness and disregard for proper procedures, including:

    Asbestos mishandling during removal
    Failure to file the permit on time
    Leaving my property unsecured, including finding my front door open on a Friday at 4 PM with no workers present
    Nailing down shingles incorrectly and leaving nails scattered around the property
    Not following the proper DaVinci shingle installation process
    Damaging my gutters
    Performing substandard patchwork on walls
    Failing to bring the project up to code
    I strongly urge anyone considering Total Construction Inc. to think twice, check reviews, and proceed with caution.

    Will never do business with these people ever again. Took them over 9 months to repair the damage from a leaking dishwasher.
    They caused so much damage to my newly painted walls.

    Horrible company and owner to do business with. Kevin Jackson is petty, rude and dishonorable. After taking a $2500 deposit they did not even start doing work for over 6 months later. They painted over my brand new gutters and will not reimburse for it. I have had to have them come back out several times to fix mistakes and each time it was not done correctly.
    I was given a bill for items they never completed or did work on(Billed me and likely my insurance for a door they never bought or replaced). They wont give an itemized receipt because they cant, its just a scam. Each sub contractor that came out likewise said this was the first and last time they would work with someone like Kevin Jackson and Peggy O'Neill. They put a lien on my house while the work was still being completed and then after they were paid in full Kevin said he wants $60 more before he would remove the lien. I only picked them at first because they had good reviews. After looking into the company more it looks like he makes his own employees write reviews to show them favorable.

    If you have any respect for your health and stress levels, your home and personal time. Do not pick total construction! There's a heart attack waiting to ha. With employees that don't know how to do a job. And so unorganized you will be telling them what and how to do it. Here's my story...... if you don't wanna read, take a look at the pictures and videos in comments.

    Total construction has to be the worst company that I have ever dealt with. It took them 2 yrs to even get our project started. There communication is awful, there always late or never show up. They never call back when they say they will. I left a bad review before and they bribed us to take it down for a free architect drawing for city. They had promised us that they would start march 2017. But they constantly kept screwing up estimates. Had like 15. We signed our contract with them on April 19th and it took them til August 14th 2017 to start. This delayed our wedding, we cancelled our U.K. Vacation. It's taken them since 9/19/2015. I don't recommend them...
    Also said they would start June 1st 2017. 2 days before they said they couldn't bec fire hydrant. Even though everything was approved. They are so unprofessional and full of excuses. They ignored concerns, questions, voicemails and even the owner was asked 3 times to contact us. Never did.

    Finally got us a start date again and a 2nd signed contract. August 14th. 2017. Yet no copy or estimate. Who does that? Took him 2 weeks to get us a copy. And yet again it was messed up .

    Finally Kevin called us and didn't have a clue what's been going on. So he doesn't know what his employees do. He said we weren't on the production list. We weren't taken seriously. At this point I had no faith in this shit company and let my wife handle it. Start day was sept 27th... they showed up 29th...

    They called at 9pm saying they need in our garage in the morning. No 24hr notice. Also Kevin will call you at 9-10pm and yet if you call him after 7pm he says it's to late. Oh and try's to bill you with no itemized bill(breakdown). Try's to charge you more too.

    So here's the crap they did to us........

    -No discounts for the lies by Chris or Kevin and the whole 2yr 2 month waiting.
    -the bribe to take down first review.
    -delay our wedding and U.K. Honeymoon.
    -living outa boxes during this time
    -no 24 hr notices
    -start date was August 14th. Didn't til sept 29th.
    -they forgot garage window and yet trying to charge us for it.
    -put in a seconded light for free bec of window they forgot yet charging us for it.
    -put 2 lights in closet, when we wanted 1 yet charging us for it.
    - used our trash and yard bins for there trash.
    -cigarette buds all over the place, smoking on job.
    -used our power and extension cords.
    -electricians lied about my wife canceling leaving holes in ceilings for a week. And that they couldn't use my outlet.
    -electricians wired up garage wrong and did not seal holes and left exposed wires.
    -put lights were garage motor is suppose to go
    -roofers damage house and left side unfinished. Also damaging 5 vents.
    -roofers used a 9-12 yr old boy and total lied saying it's a small person.
    - I saved Kevin $1000 bec roofers were drinking on job. Yet he lied and didn't take it off my bill.
    - Kevin also said he fired that crew. Lied.
    -asked for money with no itemized bill.
    -screwed up gutters, fixed 5-7 times.
    - lied to wife about how many straps.
    -put up unfinished gutters we didn't want and gave us a choose of ruined facia board or unfinished gutters.
    -screwed up my fence I had to replace it.
    -screwed up our garage door, damage ceiling and frame. 1" gaps too.
    -lied about there promises on how they will have the house looking like before.
    -lied about garage door. Had to hire someone else to do better job.
    -total scratched our new garage door.
    -lied about cedar boards saying there better and try'd to charge us $1000 more. We never approved and found out they did our siding backwards.
    -15 plus estimates I had to constantly read over. They couldn't get it write.
    -didn't build what we asked for. 8ft they did 7ft. Not 6ft forward either. Breaching contract.
    - started building before city approval.
    -I added caulking and nails to there shitty work.
    -they bought brown vents and spray painted them brown. Also painted my silver ones that I didn't want painted.
    -we had to go out and get our own carpet doing there job. Not to mention they made my wife carry it in.
    - had to fix most there work and check over everything they did every day.
    -they took down our retaining wall and wouldn't put it back.
    - sealed cracks in driveway were ruined by bobcat.
    -they damage neighbors retaining wall and yard.
    - overspray on roof.
    - I provided all outlets, switches, lights, vents, etc. yet being charged for them.
    -they used cheap bad damaged boards for framework.
    -poor insulation job. Causing icicles
    - foundation, frames, floors, driveway etc are not straight. Crooked
    -they got dust and mess everywhere also in bedroom.

    Originally, a guy named Art was in charge of scheduling the work and very little was done for 3+/- months (part, but not all, of the delay was due to a backlog resulting from heavier hailstorm damage in Lincoln, NE that tied them up a bit). Then Ray was "let go(?)" and a lady named Peggy replaced him. Immediately, the work got scheduled and was completed quickly. The quality of the work was excellent after Peggy was put in charge - they even corrected some of the previous work that had not been completed properly.

    In the end, I was completely satisfied with their work and I would strongly recommend Total Construction Services Inc. to anyone!
