This place had everything I was looking for in a contractor. Their team was experienced, their prices were reasonable, and they did a beautiful job with my kitchen. Everyone who works here is very friendly and was able to give me exactly what I was looking for. I apprecaite all their hard work. If anyone I know is planning a remodel this will be the only company I recommend.

I did a full bathroom remodel with Total Home professionals. They definitely live up to their name. They were professional from start to finish. They were also so nice. I truly enjoyed having them in my home. They managed to finish the project on time and on budget for us. I’m so happy I decided to hire them. Thank you to the entire team!

Total Home Professionals did a phenomenal job for us! This was our first time using them. We found them on the internet then gave them a call to remodel our bathroom. Everything turned out beautifully. When we called to get pricing and talk about the job they were very friendly and accommodating. They made the process seamless! Their pricing was very reasonable. The workers were prompt, polite and professional. They were very courteous and they were respectful of our home. They also did a great job of being tidy and cleaning up after themselves! I will have to remember next time that remodeling is a bit of a noisy process, but I can handle the noise for such a beautiful outcome! If you are looking to have any of your rooms remodeled then, by all means call Total Home Professionals. You will not be disappointed!

By Jason W.March 4, 2022Bathroom and basement remodel$100,000Read more
Fred was hired to redo our main bath, kids bathroom and basement in the summer of 2021.
The project was planned for 2 months and took over 7. We were without a main bath for 6 months, without really any significant issues meriting such a delay.
THP demoed our main bath and did not work for 3 weeks. We inquired if payment could be delayed in keeping with progress, THP threatened work stoppages. THP collected 90% of the fee before any substantial work was completed.
THP never had plans or a project schedule, this led to much of the work being done last second, often on weekends. Subs were rarely supervised and we often had to point out problems.
Our home was left in a terrible state during work, with materials, tools, etc all over our home. No efforts were made to clean each day and we lived through chaos in our main bed and bath for 4 months.
Fred collected $4400 from us for cabinets and never ordered them. When he admitted having not ordered them, he kept the money and used it for an extra bill.
All but one extra bill was presented after the fact, in violation of our contract. Fred would threaten to stop work, so each bill turned into a negotiation of what should be paid.
Different subs on several occasions told us that Fred owed them money. Two weeks after the permit closed, we had a sub come to our home because he had not been paid.
We pushed hard, often with aggressive words and tone, to reach a conclusion. During one incident, his retort was to threaten to call DCFS and report that my children were living in unsafe conditions (due to his workers, of course). He then lied to several others, including my wife, about having said it, but was recorded on my nest cam.
Fred is a poor contractor who has no employees and subs everything out, often to workers who are not well connected to him. He was regularly dishonest with us and was able to use our payments as leverage to do the job at the pace and quality he dictated. -

I just finished collaborating with Total Home Professionals on a bathroom remodel for an elderly woman. We specified all ADA compliant products for this client while aging in place at her home. Fred's team of professionals worked diligently on the project, showed up on time, and got the job done! They were meticulous in their detailed work and also did a great job of cleaning up at the end. I would recommend them to any potential client looking to remodel their home or redesign their exterior landscape.

I really appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the crew. They took great care of my house and discussed every step of the process with me. When I had questions or doubted my choices, they helped me pick out colors and knobs for my kitchen. They did an amazing job painting my kitchen walls and cabinets. I highly recommend them for all jobs. Fred is very personable and comes by to check in and make sure we still are enjoying our new kitchen.

Please do your homework on Fred and his company. Our experience with Fred Weiner and Total Home Professionals was horrific. We signed our contract in January 2019 and it is February 2020 and our project is only 50% done. We paid over 90% of the contract price as Fred continually threatened to stop work if weekly payments were not received. He has not paid many subcontractors who have threatened to put liens on our house. We had to hire a lawyer who advised us to only state the facts in any reviews we post. We went to the City of Park Ridge who advised us that they cannot stop Fred from doing business unless we get a judgement against him. We know that there are other people out there in the same position that we are. Fred abandoned the project in December 2019. We have lost tens of thousands of dollars and still have to pay to finish, in addition to legal fees. Please. Do your homework. Verify anything Fred tells you

By Sabrina Z.August 15, 2019whole house remodel$12,000
I would totally agree with the first reviewer and I really wish I have read his/her comments before we hired THP. We would have saved our hard-earned $$ and saved ourselves the endless headache, the shameful feeling that we had not be able to avoid the bad signs and brought this worst experience onto ourselves by hiring this company.
Total home professional is not professional at all. Our project was constantly delayed and the owner Fred Weiner admittedly just took our payment and worked on other people's projects. When he finally came back tp our project, we were hoping for smooth sailing afterwards, but our dream literally became a nightmare. After we paid for the second last of installment, which is 95% of the whole project per our contract, he barely showed up afterwards and insisted we pay more before he comes back to finish the job. After months of negotiations , he stopped responding to any of our calls and emails. When he left our project, the kitchen was not functioning, and there was no door to our garage just an opening. This was in the middle of the winter. We had to pay other people to finish the job off. THP is not trustworthy at the best and a borderline fraud.
We had filed complained to Home advisor and IL AG but the mediator there said there is not much they can do either. I highly caution anyone who want to hire this company.

If you want a contractor who demands a ton of money upfront, doesn't pull proper permit, disappears for weeks at a time, fails to show up as promised and, in the end, leaves you with a mess and refuses to provide any refunds for the failure to perform as contracted, Total Home Professionals (THP) is your contractor.
One of the absolute worst experiences of my life. Three months after hiring Fred, I'm out $21,000 and have an uninhabitable condo. I'm essentially homeless until the newly hired contractor finishes/repairs the work Total Home Professionals did and didn't do. It's been a nightmare. Every bad contractor story come to life.
Do your research carefully prior to hiring any contractor. Don't provide funds upfront. Demand receipts, invoices and waivers for all work performed (I've been unable to get any of this from THP.) Request a schedule for the proposed work and keep your BS detector turned on 24/7.

If you're consiering any kind of remodel Total Home Professionals should definitely be on your list. We spoke to almost a dozen different contractors trying to find the right fit for us but had a really hard time finding the right team. Total Home Professionals was a breath of fresh air . They were so professional right from the start and worked so hard to make sure that everything turned out exactly the way we wanted. Their prices were fantastic as well. No complaints, I already plan to use these guys again next year.
