    Hurricane Ian damage

I am very disappointed and so regretful that I hired this company. As of 08/18/2023 the work that they were contracted to do is still incomplete! On 10/25/2022 I was solicited on social media after posting in a local Facebook group looking for a reliable contractor. I expected a few messages but not such a promising message offering to meet all of my construction needs. To my surprise I was contacted by Citrus Contractors but I was told that they are owned by Angi, as in Angie’s list. They said that they can definitely do all of the work I had described in my post and even offer to help with my insurance claim. I thought it was perfect because I had so much damage in so many different areas of my home and I knew I would need a lot of different types of trade work in order to get my home back to how it was prior to the storm. Unfortunately, it has not been perfect. It hasn’t even been okay..its been a nightmare that has been going on for almost a year. They have caused more damage, extensive damage that wasn’t there after the hurricane, and are now refusing to fix it. They are also charging me the full amount of my contract without doing most of the work, and are cheeky enough to put it in writing. They put a lien on my house after knowing that my roof failed inspection, but will not communicate with me. The roofers that they sent were all drunk and I have video proof of them drinking alcohol while working on my roof. They’ve left such a mess at my house that a roofing nail embedded in my husband’s leg while he was mowing the lawn, he was out of work for a week fighting the infection that it caused. They have fired almost every person that has had any contact with me. I do not recommend this company to anybody. They are horrible! Not only do they do bad work, but the refusal to communicate with me as a customer is so disrespectful. At this point, I may have to hire a lawyer in order to be made whole and to have the lien removed from my house. A lien that was put on for the roof that failed all three inspections and had to be replaced. My home has been in a constant state of construction since October of last year. This should not happen to anyone. This is not how a good contractor does business. Do not hire this contractor, in fact, put them on a list of terrible contractors that no one should hire..be warned!

    roof

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We had roof replaced February 2019 & have leaking issues! (As does a friend who also used citrus). Contacted insurance company & inspector attributes issues to poor workmanship.
Called Citrus and they "guarantee work for 2 years" only & offered NOTHING; no contact from manager/supervisor, no offer to see for themselves, absolutely Nothing. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
It should be noted Citrus erroneously installed black instead of white facia/soffit & replaced it reluctantly after telling me that even though we ordered white - black looked better & we should leave it as it is! I have a feeling part of our issue is due to this error & the obvious irritation of the installers when they changed it.
Our roof is just 4 years old and leaks! UNACCEPTABLE

    Storm Roof Damage
    $0

On September 22, 2022, I had the pleasure to have Mr. Eddie Ferreira, Roofing Consultant, of Citrus Contracting help in my dire issues that we have with our home-roofing.
Mr. Ferreira was overly helpful in understanding the issues that we have with our roofing. He was professional in his presentation, collective in handling the issues with my insurance company, calm and pleasant in his communication, willing to explain the complete process in replacing our dire roof and going forward with our insurance company. He also had our roof placed with a tarp the very next morning-what professionalism!
I must say that Mr. Ferreira is an asset to any company and we seriously believe that he should be placed in a management position. Or as an instructor to other field roofing consultants, with his knowledge and soft tone communication skills will definitely pay-off for your company.
Thank you so much Mr. Ferreira, “For Being Outstanding,” hopefully you’ll be part of the second stage when replacing our roof.
    Thank you:

    $30,000

Stay far away from these guys!!! They offer promises they cant keep, then try and threaten you with a contract. I had two potential buyers walk from my house because I have zero clue when they would schedule this since they have been dragging they're feet for over a week and a half with zero response. Real kicker this jackwagon of a supervisor just told me he knows my situation that my house is for sale and since he didn't like this way this conversation was going, so in return he is going to take his sweet time scheduling my house and will do it at his leisure because he has a contract. Have a nice day like I told you before I recorded the conversation and I have all the text and now he refuses to give me they're lawyers contact info. That wont stop mine from coming after you

    roof

I would not recommend Citrus Contracting to anyone and consumer beware. My experience with them was anything but professional with damages caused to other areas of my home which they have yet to be responsible for. My shingle roof (which they were contracted to do) with using a subcontractor name Total Home was done in April which during this time I suffered damage to other parts of my home that were not included in my work schedule. I continue to have leaks in both front/back flat roofs, scratches on a panel of a flat roof, leaks in my AC duct work, damaged custom gutter covers, my attic was used for a garbage can during roof with towels/other debris thrown in there, etc. I also had damage done to my pavers in my driveway which I replaced and have not been reimbursed for. This company hires subcontractors that clearly have questionable skills and showed disregard for my property with drywall screws used putting holes in a metal flat roof, flashing was not placed far enough under shingles causing leaks, flashing screwed into gutter covers causing holes, and much more. I made every attempt with good faith and giving chances even up to Oct to fix these issues only to have more problems than before. I received notification in Aug that my insurance company had released "supplemental restoration money" to Citrus Contracting of over $3,300.00 which this bill was itemized showing supplies that were not used on my home, I brought this to the attention of Citrus Contracting never receiving a response. I then sent proof of pictures and documentation showing that the gutter/downspout material charged were not correct and that the existing gutter/downspout done in 2015 was still in place. Also noted in this billing were charges for materials for a flat roof replacement which was done by a subcontractor Jeff of JaDar Construction due to the roofers spray painted my back roof (not in my work schedule) and then a coating was applied (without my consent) over to hide their "mistake". The coating was applied over a dirty roof, uneven, and leaving gaps causing the water not to drain/leak. The roof that was put on in June by JaDar construction leaks everywhere and has scratches on the new panels all which Citrus Contracting/Total Home/JaDar Construction are aware of. Then in Oct a subcontractor from Sunshine Aluminum painted a coating on the seams and edges to "solve my leak problem", this coating was not applied to all surfaces and left gaps/holes that further have compounded my leak issue. In Oct I asked that Citrus Contracting and it's subcontractors (which were working on my home without my permission) no longer be on my property due to further damages being done and getting estimates from reputable companies which totaled over $6,000.00 to restore my home. During this time I was sent a "final bill for payment" in Aug totaling over $18,000.00 which my work schedule was for around $13,000.00 with none of the $3,300.00 previously gotten from my insurance company applied to the bill, once again I reached out to Citrus Contracting asking for an explanation of the bill, where the insurance money was allocated for questionable supplies/damages caused by their workers further asking about the damages that were still be addressed. My reply was a lien placed on my home in Sept for over $11,000.00, what happened to the $18,000.00 that was on the final bill sent to me? Also noted on this lien Citrus used a date in June 24th that "last of the items were furnished" which under the lien law (to my understanding) the 90 day "cannot include the correction of deficiencies in work, punch list work, or warranty work in this date". The worked hired for my shingled roof was done in April and the attempt at flat roof replacement was June. After many months dealing with Citrus Contracting now states I owe them approx $9600.00, I continue to have a insurance check to remit a final payment of approx $9700.00 which I have stated will sign over to them in turn for the following a release from all contractors/suppliers/subcontractors (which I have asked for and been denied), notarized letter of release of the lien, and $6,000.00+the $100.00 of overage from the insurance check/balance owed. I am still waiting for a response from their attorney that if they will be responsible for reimbursement of any repairs, although want me to mail the insurance check in for payment to revised invoice that I can't even get them to send me. The lien process has not been used to protect this company only used to but only to pressure me into paying them without making them accountable.

    Roof replacement

This review is for Jason Cavett to express my appreciation for the excellent service and support he has provided to me and my family while managing the activities, paperwork documentation, and explaining the convoluted process of having our roof replaced due to damage from the hurricane of 2017. He displayed an almost encyclopedic knowledge of not only the practical aspects of roof replacement and also the legal aspects. He was professional and personable and very accessible. He made us feel like he really cared about our situation and was committed to ensuring we received all that we were due. I highly recommend him for his competency and customer loyalty. From a very satisfied customer.

Horrible contractor. They take forever, tear up your house, take your money, and then disappear especially when leaks show up only a few days after new roof “done”. Unreal! How did they get so many good reviews? Baffles me because they are not interested in making it right. I won’t recommend them to anyone.

Stay as far away from this company as possible. They do not honor their warranties period. They gave me a complete run around telling me it was shingle maker problem. The shingle maker stated they would replace the shingles and rebond the roof. Total Home stated that was not good enough that they do not repairs this coming from their warranty department. They state the only do complete roof replacement on would not honor the deal leaving me high and dry and having to replace a roof that was 3 yrs old that these guys put on. This is a dishonarable company and stay away, You have been warned!!!!!
