    Add a no frills bathroom above grouind level bath

    This contractor is a scam artist. He currently has an add in the McMinnville Oregon newspaper, but if you check his license number be sure to check his PREVIOUS number 56471. The CCB has a record of one bankruptcy and multiple lawsuits which did not turn out in his favor. In my case he gained our trust and agreed to add a bathroom for $25,000 to $30,000 max, telling us that time and materials agreement would save us $8,000 to $10,000 over a bid price. We were trusting and agreed. He "finished" the job 4 months late and gave us a bill for $58,494 but never called for a final inspection. He essentially abandoned our job and when I finally called for a final inspection, it failed. He said he would correct the job but wanted more money. I filed a complaint with the CCB and Clevenger filed a lien and a law suit which is still in progress. He never furnished us receipts and said simply he didn't know the job would cost that much! We aren't the only ones. An elderly recently widowed woman that he was doing a job for at the same time that he was doing ours hired him to re-side her manufactured home. His "proposal" was $27,000 and once again he siphoned almost $60,000 out of her by asking for more money at every turn. Like us she trusted him and didn't know any better. The past law suits against him are similar. The last time I checked his subcontractors had not been paid with the money we advanced him. Avoid this contractor like the plague or you will be another victim.
