Bryan was flexible and understanding when presented with a job that he was asked if he could match - which he claimed he would and assured us it would not be a problem - even though there were some challenging parts of the job that included the stair / kitchen frame that we were unsure if he had the skill to complete - which he assured he did. However, when the job was almost finished, he said he was done and left us with at least another days work to finish the job do that we could continue with project. When informing Bryan that we would be docking some of his pay due to the unfinished work, he began to create arguements that included that it wasn’t his job to do the steps (we agreed he could/would be able to do it prior to starting the job), that he should have charged us $200 for not preppping (we did prep), and that he lost money on the job anyways (we didn’t force him to take the job - we just asked if he could match another persons price). He was unwilling to discuss any of these issues, and demonstrated further examples of poor professionalism in his sloppy work (destroyed all the trim in the house), poor reliability of when he would be at the job (was told would take a couple days and took over 2 weeks), and clearly lacked respect for an agreed upon price/ job. Despite all this, we agreed to pay in full to avoid any further drama or issues with trying to sell the house. However we did tell him we would NOT be recommending him to ANYONE and that we were dissatisfied with his work and professionalism.
