Travars Built Homes

We chose Travars Built Homes for our dream home, but it has turned into a nightmare. In our opinion, the project has been riddled with poor workmanship, lack of communication, and unprofessionalism.

The home is full of damages. Our cooktop, both ovens, and kitchen sink are scratched. Cabinets are scratched, chipped and do not operate properly. Every single shelf in the house (kitchen, bath, laundry) was splintered. Multiple bathroom fixtures, hearth and fireplace are also stained and damaged. After Travars’ alleged 'pro' cleaning I pulled handfuls of stones, garbage, bugs and other debris from our ducts, and this was after being told 3 times they were cleaned. There are ¼” piles of drywall dust on top of door & window trim.

Our concrete driveway and sidewalk were horribly painted without asking; with lap marks, splatters on our house, and grass painted in. Multiple requests in writing asking why it was even painted have been ignored and unanswered. The garage concrete floor was poorly poured, leaving a black mess of concrete which we questioned the week after the pour. Over a year later we still haven’t received an answer. Travars offered to hide it with epoxy rather than explain the cause, but experts told us it would likely peel.

Painting throughout the house is atrocious in our opinion. No trim tops/bottoms were painted, including exterior wood trim with no paint or caulk. Paint stains on carpet, metal balusters, LVP and nearly every wall switch and outlet plate, including several light fixtures. Multiple crooked walls, crooked tile, bowed ceilings and uneven, loose subfloor reflects even more shoddy workmanship.

Numerous complaints about constantly leaving the house unlocked, lights on, and windows open went ignored. A window was left open over a rainy weekend leaving puddles on our new carpet. Travars' responses to our complaints were often unprofessional and dismissive in our opinion, stating in some cases “it’s not that bad” or they “can't always control what the subs do”.

Despite documenting all these problems for months to get them addressed, Travars has shown little interest in resolving them. They won’t discuss any repairs until after we close and accept the house, leaving us with no confidence any issues would be fixed. I urge anyone considering Travars Built Homes to look elsewhere. These are just a few of the thousands of pics we have showing what we would consider very poor workmanship. We have countless photos and documentation of this disastrous experience that we're willing to share with anyone considering this builder. I would be happy to personally discuss our experience to help others avoid the same mistake.
