Built a bookcase which collapsed shortly after installation . Nails popped out of sheetrock too. Sloppy work!

Nightmare experience with this contractor. He used subcontractors that were handyman quality and did not know what they were doing. This so he could maximize his profit. From bathroom to living room, electrical to plumbing, he cut corners and did not care about the quality or results. He damaged my parquet floors, installed wall tiles that needed to be ripped out and redone, as well as ceiling lighting that was improperly installed and did not work. The list goes on. I paid him good money and he delivered inferior quality work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CONTRACTOR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Horrible experience. Uses sub-contractors of sub-par quality. Only correcting his mistakes when pointed out. Lack of attention to detail. Terrible tile work on walls and floor. Ruined my parquet flooring. Makes excuses for errors. Tries to maximize his profit at your expense. Avoid at all cost.

Response from Tristate Sustainable LLC February 9, 2022
After 35 years in business, client satisfaction remains our #1 priority. In Larry’s case (who has placed reviews under multiple pseudonyms – *LES LAW* on Nextdoor, *apoman* and *Lawrence L* on Houzz, *Stell B* and *Lawrence L.* on Angies, *Lawrence H* on YELP, *Law L* & *Lawrence L* on BuildZoom, and *Lawrence from New York* on TrustedPros), we were contracted to complete a simple studio remodel in the Fort Washington area of Manhattan – which typically takes us two to three months to complete. After a year and a half, he had switched his bathroom sink three times and had yet to order a kitchen. He frequently abused the crew to the point where one worker quit and others refused to work on his project. He was abusive to me as well and defaulted on payments. Any successful remodeling project requires both decisive involvement on the part of the client, a dedication to completing the project on the part of the contractor, and a mutually respectful working relationship between client and contractor. On this project, the former and latter were missing. We weren't fired but 'fired him' as a client, forced to file our first mechanics lien in over 38 years in business. Before Larry’s project we successfully completed major projects for both his brother and nephew. They both loved the results of our work. Since his project, we have successfully completed another major project for his nephew. If interested, we will gladly put you directly in touch with his brother and nephew (and Larry as well, if you wish) and you can make your own decision. We also invite you to read numerous client reviews on our website at www.tssustainable.com/reviews.html. Thank you for considering us for your next project. Jos Dudgeon. 646-522-2662.
