    New build
    $650,000

Tuskes does not seem to prioritize the environment, your family, or the township in which they build. We have owned a Tuskes-built 'custom' home for 1.5 years.

During the design process, not everything was adequately covered. We expressed dissatisfaction with several options, only to be told, 'this is all we can do!' Interestingly, we later discovered that they were willing to accommodate other homeowners' requests for appliance colors, sizes, tile changes, and even room alterations . Additionally, Tuskes failed to explain certain areas of concern on our plans. We paid a high premium for a lot backed by a retention pond, with the understanding that it was costly due to the view of two ponds. However, after six months, we noticed a small plot that was not listed as buildable had a quick delivery home constructed on it.

Upon moving in, we were persistently pressured to leave a review for Tuskes. We chose to wait, and unsurprisingly, issues began to arise. When we attempted to use the second-floor AC unit, it failed to work. Tuskes sent someone who spent three hours in our attic but couldn't identify the problem. The next day, after removing all the ceiling tiles, they managed to get it working. However, during this process, we discovered that we were missing coolant pipes in the kitchen. Furthermore, we encountered a cracked washing machine drain that caused water to pour out of our first-floor ceiling lights. Despite immediately contacting Tuskes, we were told it was a non-emergency, and they would send someone the following day. Initially, the plumber attempted to blame us, but eventually admitted that the drain was cracked all the way through, posing serious risks. We provided pictures to Tuskes, but despite their prompt replies to reviews, they showed little concern for the fact that our children were playing in water near live electricity.

In addition to these issues, we experienced a cracked window in our kitchen during the middle of winter, which took over three months to replace. Our master bathroom's tile floor began clicking, with one tile even breaking (this was mentioned in our one-year review). A tile worker visited in February and deemed the situation a mess, suggesting that the entire floor needed replacement. Unfortunately, we never heard from the worker again. Moreover, our sump pump in the basement was full and not draining properly. During our one-year review, it was 'adjusted,' only to overflow and flood our basement. We have noticed a moldy smell in our basement bathroom, which we rarely use. Tuskes's solution was simply to use the shower more frequently.

Lastly, their drywall repair technician, who was very polite and apologetic, accidentally broke my daughter's bunk bed in March. He assured us that they had insurance and would take care of it, but we never heard from him again.

Now, let's discuss the neighborhood. During the construction phase, we witnessed construction vehicles and painting vans speeding down the streets where children were playing on their bikes. Food was left and discarded on the streets by workers. The infrastructure has been poor, with our street being torn open four times due to drainage issues. Numerous families have had to replace their concrete driveways due to poor workmanship. And to add to our frustrations, 1.5 years after moving in, the retention pond was bulldozed because it was not properly constructed the first two times ( starting at 6:30 this morning!!) It is disheartening to have paid a premium for a lot and witness such negligence (I want it back!). This extends beyond the sale of your new home—speak to neighbors, read reviews, and consult with the township about any Tuskes-built neighborhoods before committing.

    Build house
    $350

The home is beautiful, yes. However, after a couple of years we had to replace our roof...not installed correctly. Our neighbors next to us had improper shower installation which caused leakage in their walls...we are worried we are next. Now, we have water leaking into our house due to improper window installation! The first year was great...after that, things are just falling apart!

Tuskes takes shoddy workmanship to a whole new level. There is absolutely no oversight, quality control, adherence to acceptable building standards and/or local ordinances. They lie and cheat to get you to the closing table could care less about the mess they leave you with after they have your money. For a company that builds as many homes as they do, you’d think they’d have more legitimate, positive reviews. Most come from internal employees, family members and realtors to keep up the facade. They have one warranty rep who refuses to answer her phone. If you’re in the midst of a build, make sure you have a great realtor and use your own mortgage and title company. The ones they suggest only have their own best interests in mind.

Once they have your money they could care less about their poor craftsmanship and the headaches it causes you.

Built a home with builder in Nazareth PA at Eagles landing in 2008. Tuskes has still not completed the repairs identified on our 1 year list (Its now November of 2011). Worst Builder in the area, go with anyone else. Members of our Neigborhood are considering a class action law suit. Once they have your money, you will have to beg them to complete the work. Once they have your money they are too busy for you.
