Universal Air Cooling & Heating

Ac blowing hot,called choice warranty did all their paper morning of August 28, 2025 early this morning. Still at 5:30 no word from from Chouce warranty. Our daughter is handicapped and had a serious head injury. Temp here in arizona at this hour is 105.
My neighbor had used universal said to give them a call. I called at 2pm today. They are here replacing a motor. Thank God for people like this. I will use Universal from here on. Yes it's labor day weekend and they are working. He explained unit is 1996 so it was a good unit to last that long. Thank you for saving us a trip to a hotel for the weekend. I recommend. Univeral Cooling 100%.

Our air conditioner went out on the weekend. Our home warranty company originally contracted someone else, but they weren’t able to come out for five days. We asked for a different company and they contracted this company.
Jose was able to come out the day the home warranty called him.
He quickly figured out the issue, which was the compressor. He even had the parts on hand and was able to fix it right away.

Jose and Francisco are very professional. They not only looked at our non functioning a/c unit outside, they actually went up into the hot attic to look for any issues. They are courteous and friendly and very enjoyable to converse with. We will request Universal the next time we need to call our home warranty company for HVAC service. Highly recommended!

This company was dispatched through Oneguard Home Warranty. The AC won't cool below 80 degrees. Universal's attempt #1: replace missing service caps (if they were ever really missing) and put in 1 pound of freon. Result? AC still won't cool below 80 degrees. Universal's attempt #2: Bad TXV valve, need to remove and replace 10 pounds of freon to fix at $1300 cost - stated they cannot reuse freon (which is weird, my other AC contractors can). So, I got a second opinion.. Evap coil is CLEARLY leaking oil. Asked Universal to go back and re-evaluate. They argued with me but finally agreed they would go back between 4 and 6pm that day. They no-showed. Maria, his wife, says they an honest and fair company. But what I see is they will try to milk you for all your worth until they finally have to fix what's really wrong. Any company who will argue with you when you ask them to go back to re-evaluate their work is clearly aware that they are doing something wrong. Caveat Emptor - buyer beware.

This company was GREAT to work with. When I called to request an appointment, they were very timely with responding. Francisco came out and was super efficient and professional. He replaced 2 parts that had failed in my condenser. My AC was back in business right away. So THANKFUL for the quick service and friendly technician, Francisco. I HIGHLY recommend this company.

Terrible work. Charged me for things I did not need and did a poor quality job.
