We have been somewhat satisfied with ARS. We went with them as they were at the time (and perhaps still are) who Home Depot contracts their work to.
We bought two new AC systems for our home. One summer we bought a Trane (downstairs) and the following we bought a Lennox (upstairs). We wanted our second unit to also be a Trane, however due to Home Depot discontinuing their relationship with Trane (or at least that's what we were told), we had no choice but to select something else. We made a huge mistake with the Lennox but there's no turning back.
When they came out to install the second unit, the guys went up into the attic to replace the air handler. While I understand the unit is heavy, they did quite a bit of damage to the pull-down ladder that could not be fixed without replacing the whole thing. Since the ladder is structurally sound and it folds up into the ceiling, we don't have to look at it all the time. But it was the principle of it more than anything else.
The really bad part about the two guys that were working in the attic was that, and forgive me for this, looked like white supremacists. They were covered head to toe (or at least everywhere that was exposed) with some pretty offensive tattoos and listened to some CRAZY AWFUL music. I actually had to call their supervisor. I wanted them kicked out of the house, but since they were almost done we agreed to let them finish.
I ended up signing a contract with them for one additional year of service from them, but I don't think I will be renewing. Last time they sent a tech out for "scheduled maintenance" he thought the pressure level of the coolant in one of our units was too high, so he let some out. That resulted in the lines freezing up and us having no AC for a few days while waiting for them to come back out to resolve the issue.
We haven't been very happy with ARS. But they do get the job done and are reasonably priced. I'm confident that we will select another company next time we go to renew.
