    My beginning experience with URB and Remi was great; however, I was not completely satisfied when the communication between us became delayed or absent. I chose URB because they were one of three companies I met with to jack lift a framed room that was separating from my brick home. On the first day of work I went outside to find my backstairs being replaced first. When I asked why that was being done before the room was raised, Remi informed me his expert advised doing so could lead to more problems. I, too, had consulted an architect beforehand who specialized in disaster homes. He outlined for me what needed to be done and specified these problems with each contractor I met with. Instead they would fill in where the separation was and side over it. When they removed the rest of the old siding they found there were already pillars present, so instead of digging new ones they reinforced the ones already there. I was never shown where the new 6x6 horizontal pressured treated posts were added underneath the room, and 4x6 headers replaced 6x6 headers. On the day the workers were adding plywood to cover the exposed area they cut the 2 wire on my air conditioner. Remi was advised by his workers and it was relayed that he would take care of it. When I tried to unsuccessfully reach him, I called a company to come and fix it that day. At the time I was informed it would cost over $550.00 to replace it or they could splice it for half the price. Although USB would credit me with that cost, Remi said his expert advised a spliced wire was just as safe as a new one. I would have preferred that my air conditioner was left in the same condition it was before the work was started. As work was nearing completion I inquired if there would be adjustments to my final payment. He first offered that I would not have to make the final payment. When I requested an itemized bill, it took a week before I received it, and it was over $200.00 more than his first offer. There was some give and take on the services he didn't charge for, but there were things that I did not request that were in the original bill, example: the removal and replacement of gutters that were not there in the first place. On one of the last days I was told the workers would be there, they never showed up. A phone call or text would have been appreciated. As for the quality of the work, I have no complaints. I'm very pleased with the final product - the workers cleaned up each day and were very courteous.

    A flood resulted in mold everywhere in our basement and the need for a totally new basement. After speaking with Brian from URB Remodeling, I took his offer more seriously than anyone else’s. Very knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely wanting to please with his work, Brian impresses you as being far more about helping people than about money. His contract specifies no money down, and satisfaction guaranteed. You pay in stages. Our contract specified that he’d do even more that companies charging $30,000 or more would do, for a small fraction of their asking price. He came to the project site nearly every day, and did far more for free than the contract specified. His company installed wall standards for shelving, did electrical work and painted the stairs of our basement, all at no charge. His work was outstanding, very clean, and flawless because he fixed anything I thought needed tweaking. Warm and eager to make you happy, Brian is one of a kind!
