This company just completed a huge project in my block - they replaced and concreted 12 houses’ portion of our community drive; plus 4 personal driveways, 7 dry wells and one sidewalk. They worked very hard, the price was excellent, the workmanship was very good - with 2 criticisms - I think there should have been more expansion [isolation] joints - they finished pouring the concrete for the day, which was not always at the property line, and then poured the next slab the next or following day - somedays this meant there were 48’ lengths or so, without a break. They also should be carrying sakrete with them in case the job runs “short.” Mine did run short and they were trying to use the “discharge” from cleaning the mixer truck to finish it; fortunately, I had some unused sakrete in my garage, which they used.. They had printed contracts, they accepted personal checks, they asked for them to be made out to their company name; so I love that they were not trying to launder the $$ under the table. My other problem was their lack of communication between giving us the bid and starting the work; it was 2 weeks or so and the younger man did not keep appointments to sign the contract/take the deposits. We figured they were not going to do the work and we were all ready to start getting more estimates and start all over when all of a sudden, we got a call that they were going to start the next day. It would have taken just one call to my neighbor, who made all the contacts, to keep us all in the loop, but they did not do that. They almost lost our job and we would have missed out on good workmanship at a very competitive price.
