VA Builders and GP Electric, owned and operated by Greg Pierce in Snead’s Ferry, N.C. is not reliable and cannot be trusted to complete work as promised. Dealing directly with Greg Pierce, he comes off as a nice guy who believes in family values and makes you trust him. He constantly makes promises of deadlines and work that will be completed that doesn’t happen. Many times after multiple calls and texts I finally got him to send someone out to complete tasks but they often did poor quality work and he never inspected anything that they did for quality. After I complained multiple times about the quality of work by an individual he informed me that others complained and he no longer used that person but he did not correct the poor work done by him. That individual worked on our screened in porch and it was so bad I tore it down and replaced all the framing and screen products with good quality material myself for about $800 and Greg had charged me $1500 for the work he did. The privacy fence for $3400 was poorly built and I have had to make several repairs to areas mostly because the boards were nailed improperly completely missing the mark or barely catching the edge. I showed Greg these issues because he never inspected the work.
I contracted Greg to build my house in July of 2012 and he estimated 90 days to build it and it was completed in January of 2013 approximately twice the time and there were many small details not taken care of at that point. He offers a one year warrantee and promises to fix all the small things along with issues near the end of the year so that it is all completed at once but did not fix anything except an urgent leak and water damage to the wood floor. At the end of the year we sat down and went over my list and he said he would start the repair the following week so I paid him for all upgrades and extra. It has been almost 2 years and in spite of multiple contacts made by me and promises made by him, not one thing has been repaired or one piece of replacement material been delivered that he promised. I did a review online after waiting a year and he stopped taking my calls and would not return my texts in retaliation to my negative review. I recently went to his place of business looking for him and after leaving messages for him and after I texted that I was going to file complaints with the BBB. He responded June 12, 2015 promising he would finish the work. He has made promises to complete the work “next week” for more than two months this time and after multiple messages and texts he texted me that he would call me “next week” and did not. As of Oct. 25, 2015 nothing has been done and he has not contacted me at all.
Greg Pierce is a deceitful person and strings people along but will not deliver on his promises. I paid him $11,000 for upgrades and extras last year and he promised to follow through with the warrantee issues the next week. Once he got the money he wanted to make from me he dismissed me as unimportant and left my family with all these issues to deal with. He loaded my wheel barrel up and took it from my property. I told him and he acknowledged he had it but had mistook it as his and he would return it with replacement materials he was to deliver “next week” and after more than a year he has not returned my property or delivered the materials. He is not a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) but they took my complaint and tried to contact him but he did not respond to them either. They suggested I take legal actions against him and offered guidance. He has been reported through the HOA by myself and others which has resulted in the Developers decision to not allow him to build any more houses in Southwest Plantation. I am pursuing having his business placed off limits by the military bases here and plan legal action. I will also be sending a letter to the IRS about the $11,000 he returned and asked me to break up in two checks and I expect he did it because he did not report that income. -

I hired V A Builders for a project. Timely response. Very reasonable on price. Very courteous. Explained very detailed how project would be completed and was done as promised. Would highly recommend for any construction project that one may need to have done.

I hired VA Builders for an addition on my house. It was a extension of my family room and addition of garage. The price quoted was more than other estimates and I had asked around about the reputation of the business. I heard negative as well as positive. knowing there is always two sides to every story I gave them the job. By completion of job I was glad I did. The work done was of very good quality and was done well within the time line discussed at time of awarding job. No matter how small or large the project I suggest that you use them for your next project, I sure will .
