  Update electrical panel, mast, and install 220 outlet

  $7,500

  This man took a $7500 check as a deposit to update a house we were buying Nov 18, 2021. He gave us a timeframe of 4-6 weeks after we moved in to have this one day job completed. Said he would call when he was ready to do the job. After waiting 8 weeks and not hearing from him I called him. He apologized, said he had been busy. He then mentioned it needed to be warm enough for him to do the work. That the power would be shut off to the house, that he had to work outside on our mast and he needed it to be above freezing to do the job. There was no mention of this when he accepted the job when our realtor, him, and I were still just looking at the house and had not yet purchased it. When he bid the job there was no mention of it having to be "warm enough" either. He came out to the house on 1-14-22 to take a look at what he was supposed to do, so he would know what to bring. He then argued over the placement of the 220 plug we needed put in for our dryer. Said he never said he would put it where we need it. That is not true, as there was already a vent where the dryer had been previously and he saw that the day he was here with our realtor. He said he would do it for us though, like it was a favor. When he left on Friday 1-14-22 he said he would call Avista on Tuesday 1-18-22 and try to schedule them to come out to shut off power to the house on Thursday 1-20-22, and that he would change out the electrical panel, put in the plug, and replace the mast on 1-20-22 all in one day, but that he would call me on Tuesday the 14th to confirm this. He did not call on Tuesday, and he never came on Thursday to do the work. Never heard from him that week at all. So on Wedsnesday 1-26-2022 I called him, he did not answer. Shortly thereafter he sent a text saying he could not do the job and that he would refund us the $7500. Said he would have the money to me by the end of the day, his words. So he accepted, bid made us wait TWO MONTHS, then backs out. Is now refusing to bring the money by our house as he said he would earlier today, but that he would "put a check in the mail."Kinda makes one wonder what him and the realtor said during their private little conversation I was not privy to. Anything to make the sale right. He is dishonest and untrustworthy, not to mention very unprofessional. I had better get my money back soon!
