The contracted job was for Valero Home Solutions/Construction, owned annd operated by John Michael Sullivan, to build a standard barn. He barely prepared the site, quit answering email, texts and phone messages and changed the name of his company. He took a sizable down payment and disappeared from the project. I would never again hire him or any company with which he is associated.

Valero was 5 weeks late in getting started after taking my 50% down. They they worked for 3 days doing excavation and then all communication stopped. There has been no response to emails, texts, and phone calls in 4 weeks. Voice mail is full. For all I know the guy is dead. I just want my unused money back. Time to see about legal action.

First month had great customer service and then it started going bad. Work stopped after 1 month of signed contract and contacting Valero has been spotty if not difficult. Materials paid for have not been delivered and some tasks not completed. Was informed multiple times someone will be by and no one shows up nor anyone calls. Update: No response from calls, texts or letters sent to contractor. He took the money, stopped communicating and abandoned job. I'm now seeking legal action to retrieve monies owed to me.

He took $4,100 and gave every excuse imaginable to delay the project. What was supposed to be a simple two-day job we agreed to back in September never progressed beyond dropping off some dirt — and even that was filled with trash, as if he was reusing materials from other sites to cut corners.
He came across as extremely professional at first, but once he had half the payment upfront (lesson learned), he disappeared for three weeks. When he finally resurfaced, he apologized and seemed sincere — but the excuses started rolling in. He blamed the city, logistics, and anything else he could to justify why the job wasn’t done.
It wasn’t until February that he finally showed up with dirt, and by March, I’d had enough. I felt completely taken advantage of. Since then, I’ve connected with others who’ve had similar experiences and realized I wasn’t the only one he misled. Do not use him!! I don’t care how good of a price he gives you or how educated or professional he comes across. You will regret it.
