Chris Valot is a hands-on owner, on-site regularly to ensure things are going smoothly throughout the process. His team is friendly and professional. We needed to stay open for business during our construction, so they worked with us to figure out how to manage each part of our expansion– we had no interruption in our business. Our construction took place when many construction items were hard to get and Chris had excellent suggestions for alternatives when something was out of stock / back ordered for months. Communication was open and easy. Everything was done in the time we expected and looks great. Valot is an awesome company to work with and we would definitely recommend them!

Sadly, this contractor walked off the job after he had been paid in full. He spent about 4.5 weeks on the job working at a painfully slow pace. His guys told me that they were being asked to do things they didn't know how to do, and it became evident in their slowness. For instance, the day before he walked, he sent two guys to my job--one a painter and another a helper - to tile the bathroom shower. When I asked why it took them all day to only lay 3 tiles, they told me that it took him 4 hours to measure for the tiles, and the other time to lay them. I spoke to the office to complain, and she defended them. In the end, this contractor took a large commercial job, and his workers told me that he would be fined if he missed a deadline. Despite the fact that he was a month past my deadline, he choose to pull his guys after I'd paid him $26,000 (Full payment).
I anticipate that he will respond by saying that he ran into things he did not expect. That is true. He had to remove the sheetrock from about 15 feet and replace it, rewire 5 electrical plugs, and do some extensive plumbing work. We made financial arrangements for the extra work, and I acknowledge that it pushed back the timeline a little. But that does NOT give him an excuse to walk away from a job that he was paid in full for.
I DO NOT recommend this contractor--he uses amateurs that cannot get the job done. -
By Rick W.September 21, 2021Verified HireKitchen Remodel project
Complete kitchen makeover. We required the popcorn ceiling removed, fluorescent lights removed and upgraded to modern can-less recessed lighting, upper and lower cabinets removed and replaced, countertops upgraded to granite, and floor tiles replaced with new tiles. We also required the tiles selected fo the kitchen be carried over to the entryway/foyer.
We were led to believe the job could be completed in a week. The job was actually complete about six weeks but partly due to cabinet delays.
The Valot Team were not experienced and this could be explained by the COVID epidemic where every organization was faced with re-hiring talent to get their business going again. For us, we felt like we had amateurs that needed our constant attention. We got to know the team over the extended process and found them to be pleasant and always willing to correct things we were not happy with but the overall outcome was less than optimum.

By Michelle J.April 10, 2021Verified HireConsidered for Bathroom Remodel
I hired Valot General Contractors for a bathroom remodel. Chris was prompt to respond to my questions and even came out to give the quote within 2 days of contacting him. Santiago and the other men were very respectful of the unusual working environment due to the pandemic. They kept us informed on their progress and were prompt to inform us of anything that came up during the job. I’ve already recommended them to friends and family. We will definitely be contacting them for future work.

By Kevin S.March 19, 2021Verified HireMulti-Room Remodel project
The first day I had a run-in with the main worker and we had words. Everything that they did had to be redone. They never admitted when they were wrong even though it was obvious. They were extremely messy even so far as to make a mess of my neighbors house by leaving splatters of, I assume, grout on the house siding.
I would never recommend this Valot to work on anything and am extremely angry at bulidzoom for recommending them. This has been a horrible experience.

Was very pleased with owner being involved during the work and the crew he had on the job were great. They were friendly and remembered that I was still living in the house. I will use them again on future projects and recommend them to friends and family for projects they have coming up.

We hired VGC to assess and repair the damage caused by a leak behind the washer. After the assessment was completed, Chris and Santiago gave us a clear and detailed explanation of the problem and the extent of the damage (which was awful; the wall behind the washer was covered in black mold!) We already knew the consequences of this mold to our health, so we asked them to start the mold detention immediately. They instructed us very clearly of all the dangers during the treatment, and proceeded to start protecting the area before spraying.
The treatment started on a Friday. They came back on Saturday to spray again. On Monday the rebuilding started. Chris and Santiago were punctual every day to finish the rebuild, constantly informing us about what was happening.
I added two additional requests to the original job. They were prompt to get those extra requests done. And their fees were VERY reasonable for our budget.
