Dean Downing was hired to build an outdoor kitchen and a roof over our existing patio. The contract indicates that the job will be completed in 90 days. Our first check was cashed on April 9th but we are still not finished and it's the end of August. Several times he indicated that the project would be complete for planned parties including The Kentucky Derby and July 4th. We have had a change order but it was to add one flood light. The work performed is of a good quality, but the lack of communication and workers showing up about once per week or less has ruined the experience. We have sent several emails and texts but many of them go unanswered. I have found a similar review from 2010 about him when he worked for Southerland Construction. Be careful and don't make the final payment until the work is completed. I would not recommend him unless you have no time line.
