Initially we thought we had made a good choice in hiring David Vaughn to build a porch cover over our back patio. He was friendly, seemed knowledgeable. The project ended up taking about 6 months to complete which was longer than we were told. But because this was not in our living space we were flexible and allowing them to work on and off. Sometimes they wouldn't work for a week or two at a time. There were some issues with how well things were done through the project but David was responsive and would correct the problems. However after they were finished we realized that they left a section of the roof without underlayment or drip edge. David came back to see the problem and assured us that he would get it done correctly. But since then he has not honored his promise, has blocked our phone calls, when we called from our son's phone which he answered immediately, he assured us again that he would take care of the problem. And we haven't heard from him again. So I cannot recommend using this company because they do not stand behind their work and do not honor their commitments
8/31/25 - update - we had still not heard from David, but today we were driving home, and saw David and his wife standing outside her office. We stopped to ask why we hadn't heard from them. They both started cussing at us, accusing us of trying to make them pay to replace our entire roof. I explained that our request this entire time was that the portion of the patio roof that was missing underlayment be redone correctly - or they could pay someone else to do it. At no time had i asked for anything other than having that section of roof completed correctly. He stated that since it was not leaking, it was fine. David then asked how I figured it out - I told him I was checking the gutters when I noticed there was a section with just shingles, no underlayment. He continued cussing, then got in my husband's face and chest bumped him. His wife had to physically move him back. He then accused me of removing the underlayment from that portion .. I can't imagine how or why I would do this. He stated that he will not be repairing the poorly done work. We agree that he will not - we will not allow him back.
