We hired Vector Home Improvement (Mauricio Reis) to remodel our kitchen and three bathrooms, build a deck and convert a one-car garage into a home office/bedroom. Mauricio was very attentive before the contract was signed and told us that he was a licensed general contractor in Massachusetts. Our job was supposed to take ten weeks. As of this writing, Mauricio has taken approximately $73,000 and has not completed a single part of the project. It has been four months. He removed our kitchen and bathroom, built a deck frame, ripped off our front steps and then the project stalled. After months of excuses and unexplained delays, he finally admitted that he has no money to finish our project. After weeks of requesting to see an accounting of the money spent, we finally called that bank and the building inspector for help. This is when we found out that he used someone else's license to get the building permit for our project. Our home is ruined and we are faced with coming up with tens of thousands of dollars to get our project back on track. I strongly recommend that you do not ever do business with this company.

We had a very similar experience with Mauricio as well. Our job was a bathroom remodeling which he said would take 2 weeks - a year later we had to have another contractor essentially redo the work he did and then finish the bathroom. We are out about $14,000. We are suing him in small claims court, but so far - two years later, the court can't find him to serve him so unless we can find him and get someone to serve him we are out of luck. We also had the same issue with permitting - he tried to use someone else's license to pull the permit.
