The experience working with this builder was awful. From start to finsh was problems. Since we have been in our house (a year) we have had many problems with the house. We were told when signing contract that there is a year warranty they provide but fail to disclose the fact that you won't want to deal with them after the building process. There has been no warranty for us. We have had to pay thousands out of pocket to hire non velocity homes contractors to fix the bad work and quality that the provide. We spent $5,000 reduing electrical troughout our house. There is no way that we would go through this builder again.

This review is a lengthy one, but well worth reading to know what you're getting into when hiring this builder. Building a home is a major investment and it is best to find the right builder. I wish I had. The "5 star" reviews on google sound more like advertisements than legitimate building reviews.
I hired velocity homes to build my house on a property I purchased in the Canyon Ridge Subdivision. Having velocity homes build my house was a terrible experience. Whenever I had to meet with spencer or brian, it was always an argument . The realtor who referred us to velocity homes was paid by them to do so. The service, workmanship, punctuality and quality of products was awful. From the owners to the employees, the behavior was rude and unprofessional. It starts at the top.
I was told by them, that they just wanted to be done with my house and that they just wanted to get it out of their hair. The feeling was definitely mutual, because contrary to what the realtors and subs have said in their reviews of velocity homes on google, as a customer the experience of building with them was an absolute nightmare. We just wanted our house built correctly. The house never was complete, but they received the payment in full and thousands more.
I ordered and paid extra for an upgrade on my cabinets and they accepted the extra money, but installed paint grade instead. When we spoke with them, upon signing contract, we were told that they try not to do change orders like the other builders. They came to us for change orders the entire time. Many times we were overcharged or charged twice for installs. For instance, there was a down spout for a rain gutter that they installed wrong. So, they charged us an additional $2,000 to do it right. For one down spout! Another time they charged us $6,000 to install some shelves in our storage room, which was probably more than double of what it should have been.
Hiring velocity homes to build our house was BIG mistake for us. We have had nothing but problems; from them taking dirt from a drainage ditch we had to keep our property/house from flooding, to having our electrical done wrong (which was a very big safety issues), them not installing fire doors where required, not installing vents where required, our plumbing was done wrong, the HVAC was done incorrectly (which is going to be a big expense to have it done right from another HVAC contractor) and they installed the wrong countertops for my kitchen. So now we have to take that out and pay to have the right ones installed. There is more. We had to hire non-velocity subs to have them come and fix those problems and paid out of our pocket for that, which has cost over $50,000.
I am not appreciative of the way we were treated, or the quality and service we received from them. At the end of the building, brian met with me to try and get me to sign an agreement, stating that they would not be responsible for some damage that was done to our flooring. I said no. Brian then asked if he needed spencer to come meet me. I told him that I don't care who meets me and that I'm not signing any such agreement. Brian then responded, "I don't blame you, I wouldn't either". He was trying to get me to sign it, though. To top all of this, they have spread false rumors about us. I did not realize what I was getting into when I signed the contract to have velocity homes build for me. My experience, building with this builder, was that they had no integrity.
There are plenty of other builders around. No need to go with a builder who has about forty "5 star" reviews on google, from people who aren't customers but realtors and subs. I was an actual customer building with them and they have worked to have my review of them taken down from google. Watch out for them. I would not allow velocity homes to build for me again, or refer them to anyone. Building a house is a major investment. Make sure to hire a reputable builder.
