By Stephanie D.December 15, 2021to remove ONE large tree and grind down the roots & stump$750Read more
Ventry Asset Mgmt sent 4 different men, 2 different times to our residence with the sole purpose of completely removing 1 semi-dying, very large cottonwood tree from our front yard, with roots that had come up and broken up much of our yard and even traveled into our neighbors yard, potentially causing underground damage. They first sent 2 men who didn't know what they were doing and just TRIMMED a couple of lower branches and then left! We contacted "Heather", who seems to run things around there, and eventually she seemed to finally comprehend what actually needed to be done, and sent 2 different men to our house, and without even notifying us beforehand either. These guys both told us and our neighbor that they were "arborists" and that they were LICENSED. But when they asked our neighbor where they could dump all of the debris, that should have been our first clue that things were not going to go smoothly at all!
They rented inadequate equipment from Home Depot, and because they did not have the right equipment (like actual ARBORISTS do), they had to drive the equipment onto our and our neighbor's yards, pulling up grass along the way! Furthermore, even more serious, because they did not want to take the time to properly trim the large tree, and perhaps because of the inadequate equipment, THEY CUT DOWN ANOTHER TREE from our front yard...a HEALTHY, MATURE, SMALLER, WELL-DISTANCED, NON-PROBLEMATIC tree!!! They never even asked us or consulted us before doing so. In fact, when our neighbor came out and asked them if we knew they had just cut that tree down, one of them replied "They don't care"!!
During the process of these 2 men cutting down, now BOTH trees, we heard large stumps/branches HITTING OUR HOUSE several times! At one point, one of the branches hit our garage door and broke one of the large decorative exterior lights. Right now it's just cracked up and hanging off the house by the exposed wires! We sent 2 emails to this "Heather" person at Ventry and she replied to neither of them. I eventually decided to call her, and wow, let me tell you about how NOT to treat your customers, or ANY person for that matter:
First off, her tone was impatient from her "hello" when I was transferred to her upon my request, from the receptionist. I very politely and calmly told her that I had not been responded to after 2 emails and thought it would be better maybe if I called. She INTERRUPTED me throughout our conversation, ARGUING about just about every point and statement I was making. I assure you that I STILL maintained my polite and calm composure (although it was trying), and even told her that she should never talk so rudely to customers. When I told her that she never should have cut down the other tree, and that there was PLENTY of room between it and the one that needed to go, and that we knew this because our neighbor's husband used to own and run a tree service business and had assessed the tree's condition and what would need to be done to remove it (and, yes, he WAS an arborist), this "Heather" lady had the audacity to interrupt me once again to tell me that THAT must be why I was mad, because she said that we must have wanted HIM to get the job instead! Which makes zero sense anyway, but also completely deflected from the issue, which was they SHE gave permission, according to her, to CUT DOWN OUR OTHER TREE, and ONLY to make it EASIER for the big one to be cut, according to her!!! And she never even came out herself to see our yard and trees, yet told the 2 men to go ahead and remove it too!.
As of the writing of this review, there is a front yard FULL of broken trees and stumps and torn up grass. And as this writing, the men left hours ago, and removed all of their tools and equipment, leaving only a GASOLINE CAN in our front yard, and I honestly don't know if they plan on returning to remove that debris, the debris that they asked a neighbor "is there anywhere around here to dump"!
Customer BEWARE. And probably vendor beware too. And beyond the unprofessionalism and LACK of credentials, try to not to trust "Heather" there to either prepare the job properly, behave maturely, and certainly not to follow up or take accountability for any problems that may come up.
We will be contacting the owner and/or their corporate office, if they have one, next. This is not acceptable.

First, I have to agree with the review about how rude the office staff is! Also they sent out a man to take pictures after this had already been done and then I called the office and they told me he was sick! Yes, sending a sick guy to my home for no reason! Then when the guy showed up to fix my fence, he needed help so I called the office again and was told that “I have issues “ really?!!! So I’m the end I had to help this really nice guy pull the fences up a hillside because he couldn’t get help and I have two dogs that need this fixed! I about fell down the hill and hurt my back just helping him . I needed more help but asked for my landlord not to call them. Done! You need better customer service in your office because she is very rude!!!
