After two years of being patient and understanding with the electrical at my parents home, my family and I had to fire Bryon Vickers as our electrician. He is the owner of Vickers Electric. Do not hire or sub out to Bryon Vickers or any of his family or associates. The amount of time and money wasted is heartbreaking. He never met one deadline, he would tell us lies and would call out of work daily and weekly, he did not follow through with completing his contract of transferring service, switching out to larger panels, and a lot of the work he has done is not up to code so it will have to be redone. He was paid on time and per our contract. We did everything to work with him and every time he would look us in our face and straight up lie to us. There is so much more I could say but it wouldn’t matter bc he is not a person of his word and in the end his knowledge and skills were questionable. We thought we were dealing with a professional but in the end his unprofessional behavior and bad character outwayed any of the positives that occurred in the beginning of this long journey.
He is not licensed in the City of Dayton even though he told us he was. We will be reporting him to the City of Dayton inspectors and the surrounding city inspection offices too. No family or investor should have to deal with the issues we have had to deal with over the last two years. It should have never taken this long and in the end he would never show up or provide the required materials to finish the job. The amount of rental income loss and the amount of materials wasted is a hard lesson learned. We had to cut our loses and move forward with a new licensed City of Dayton approved electrician. All good work he did in the beginning of our project was short lived and overshadowed by his inability to follow through on completeing this project. Please stay clear of doing any business with Bryon Vickers and any of the people that helped him.
Administrators of this group, please add him to your do not hire contractors list. I have multiple contractors who started after him that can vouch for the inconsistencies and issues that occurred over March 2020-March 2022.
We are thankful for the insight and helpful guidance that has been provided to us over the last few months by inspectors and other licensed electricians. Looking forward to overcoming this situation and moving past it for better opportunities in the future.
