Viking Built Homes website states "We build the home of your dreams". Unfortunately, they do not. Jim Garofalo and his team built the wrong façade on the front of our house. The porch was to run the length of the home and they cut it in half. They then tossed a roof on the porch that was in no way representative of the home we contracted for. He and his team didn’t even tell us they were changing the front of the home. They shrank the upstairs second bathroom by 4’ which did not allow for a double vanity which was planned from the get go. We were to have shower ledges framed and tiled in our shower, which did not happen. They reframed the main level multiple times due to not following plans. They have major quality control inspection issues which include hundreds of nails fired through plywood and not into studs and joist. Walls that were not tied into each other. Subfloors that flexed and squeaked. Multiple times Jim went back on pricing he provided us, each time increasing the cost more. They charged us $11,000 to add 5 cabinets. At the time of flooring installation which was roughly 3 months after framing was complete, Jim wanted to talk Lumber Allowance. For those that are familiar with construction, your lumber supplier typically invoices you within weeks of delivery. He waited 3 months to discuss so he could charge us more. At that point, we had enough and cut ties with them. We are still in arbitration with them 23 months after the fact and they have timed up $40K of our money. I would not recommend Viking Built Homes to anyone. Feel free to reach out to me and I will happily share our story so that you do not fall victim like we did. [email protected]
