Mr. Richard Schwartz,
Village Park HomesI am writing regarding the faulty air conditioning installation at my new home located at 66 Circlewood Drive, Beach City Place, Hilton Head Island, SC. I want to bring to your attention the following issues I have had with the air conditioning system I have had since I purchased the new construction home on December 6, 2019.
I would also like to share that I purchased the new Village Park Home after selling my Calloway Home at 7249 Gallery Pointe Lane, Charlotte, North Carolina in December 2019 that was originally built in 2008.
I purchased one of your new homes in Hilton Head to have the security of not having to pay for repairs to the home including the Carrier Air Conditioning system.
I live on a fixed income so I felt secure in purchasing one of your Village Park new construction homes until I have encountered the unfortunate costly repairs to the Carrier air conditioning system that amounted to $1,118.13 yesterday due to faulty original installation of the unit by the original contracted installer. Invoice attached.
Also, note that numerous homes in Beach City Place have experienced problems with their air condition systems also installed at the time of construction by Dean Custom Air. These owners have dealt with Village Park associates on site or the Bluffton headquarters to no avail.
Please note that shortly after my original purchase of my home, I purchased a maintenance contract with Ocean Air Cooling and Heating for 2 annual service checks yearly. Prior to purchasing the contract, I had to call Dean Custom Air, the original installing company to come check the system because the upstairs was not cooling. They did not solve the problem so I called Ocean Air and they discovered that a cover had not been installed properly.
I am would like to ask in good faith that you arrange for Village Park to reimburse me for one half of yesterday’s repair costs due to improperly installed system.
I look forward to a positive reply from my request.
Thank you.

I would love to be able to give a 5 star review of Village Park Homes, but after 8 months of subpar service and lack of communication we were told a week ago that our framing still had not been ordered and we're now looking at 10 more months until closing. We we're given a closing date of SEPTEMBER 2021 when we signed paperwork in February of this year. Our slab wasn't poured until September 2021. I nor my realtor can get straight answers from their point of contact Ashley McCall. I hate to say it but steer clear of this company.

They were terrible. Long story short they built our house backwards on the lot. When we caught the error they said too bad. That’s how it’s going to be. We were paying over 400k for this house. We told them we were done playing games with them and wanted our earnest money back due to there mistakes!!! They said no and we ended up walking away from the house. If your thinking of buying a home from them think twice. They are liars and crooks!!!!

Do not follow up on promises. Once you close on your home the work done. My home was not finished. Home was delayed several times and was still not finished before closing. Was promised 3 months to complete, took 7 months and work was still not done. Had to rent a home for the extra time needed to complete. I am still waiting for my finish work to be done and it is now February 2018. Quality of work and products does not match the cost of house. My home is in the Southern Oaks development of Village Park Homes.

Village Park Homes uses sub-contractors that install sub-par mechanical systems. What do I mean by this? Take the air conditioning systems they install. First they used a company called Northpoint Heating & Air, Inc. which must be the cheapest company a builder can hire. They installed units in my home that weren't even large enough to cool the home properly. Then they installed Lenox units which have had troubles with defective coils since 2007. Lenox had so may problems with coils, they had a class-action lawsuit against them. My home in Lawton Station was built in 2014. Why would Village Park Homes hire Northpoint Heating & Air, Inc. and let them install units that were too small, and had defective coils in the first place? Many people in Lawton Station have had major problems with their air conditioning that Northpoint Heating & Air, Inc. One person said they have had 3 homes built by Village Park Homes and had major problems with their air conditioning in each of the homes, and the common denominator was Northpoint Heating & Air, Inc.
Then there is the fact that Village Park Homes is supposed to come by and fix defects in the homes they build around the 11 month mark. They do a very poor job doing this and they don't fix the problems correctly at all. They try to do something that is unacceptable at best. SO not only is Village Park Homes in Bluffton, SC letting their sub-contractors install sub-par air conditioning and heating units, they aren't living up to their word of fixing defects in their homes properly either. It cost me $11,500 dollars to correct the problems I had with my heating and air conditioning in a home that isn't even 4 years old as of yet.
As another person who dealt with Village Park Homes said, contacting Richard Schwartz who is the president of Village Park Homes is useless. He'll do his best to ignore you, and could personally care less about your needs, after VPH's make their money.
It's unreal how many people in Lawton Station have had trouble with their heating and air conditioning in brand new homes. Before I would ever deal with VPH's again I would make sure they're using go sub-contractors. Especially for heating and air conditioning which is a huge expense in a home in the south.
Richard Schwartz and Village Park Homes could care less that you got a sub-par package when it comes to heating and air.

Extremely poor quality construction, an incompetent project manager, and abysmal warranty service. We will never buy another VPH home.
