REVIEW: POSTED 4-8-23
67 DAYS & MY HOME REWIRE IS NOT FINISHED + NO PLANS MADE TO FINISH. WON'T PASS INSPECTION--ELECTRICAL PANEL INSTALLED TOO CLOSE TO WATER HEATER. As a 75-year-old handicapped widow, I know nothing about rewiring. Within 30 minutes of ELIYAHU (ELI) ASSOULINE'S arrival at my house, I’d given him a $1,000 down payment. By 2-10-23, ELI HAD $17,509.50OF MY MONEY. Eli told me could only match price of other estimate if able to start immediately (since had to pay his crew even if not working) & would give me discount for cash/check. CONSTRUCTION STARTED 2-1-23. First crew didn’t know who Eli was & didn't protect my home AS STATED IN CONTRACT. Eli informed of this multiple times & saw it on the ONE other time he came to my house for 5 mins. (only to collect money). ELI REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO COME OUT & CORRECT MESS THAT WAS BEING MADE OF HOUSE. I ALSO WAS NEVER GIVEN A 3-DAY OR 5-DAY OPTION TO CANCEL THE CONTRACT VERBALLY OR IN WRITING, WHICH I HAVE SINCE LEARNED IS REQUIRED. CONTRACT SAID LEGACY (Eli said same company) & HAD NO ADDRESS--ALSO REQUIRED. (Do read Legacy's reviews!) Eli said it would take about a week & would do one room at a time. I prepared for that. I repeatedly asked if I needed to move anything for the workers to have access & Eli repeatedly told me that they'd move anything that needed to be moved and would put things back when they were done. I have lived in this house over 36 years and have a lot of “stuff”. Eli saw the amount of furniture & belongings in house. I also informed Eli I had furniture stored in my attic for a family of 4. Eli said it wouldn’t be a problem. Eli declined to inspect my attic, when asked. He repeatedly said workers would move anything they needed to move and put back afterwards. This did not happen. Eli’s continuing “mantra” was, “Trust me, we are the experts.” This was said each time I questioned a decision or asked that the contract be followed. Since I’m only given LIMITED SPACE here, here’s a VERY SHORT SUMMARY of SOME of what happened: A 97-year-old house should have been presumed to contain lead in paint that was being sawed through & protective measures (containment) should have been observed. Eli only tested for lead (positive) asbestos (negative) and mold (positive) AFTER I BECAME SICK. When I asked why he had not tested at beginning the project, Eli said city wouldn’t allow him to pull a permit if area known to contain asbestos & did not speak to the issues of lead paint or the possibility of mold in a house this old. OVER 66 HOLES WERE MADE & LEFT UNCOVERED IN WALLS WHILE REWIRING DONE & NOT COVERED EACH NIGHT, AS ELI SAID THEY'D BE. Floors, furniture and belongings NOT covered (as stated in writing in contract), RESULTING IN LEAD & MOLD DUST ALL OVER THE HOUSE. I BECAME ILL & HAD TO MOVE OUT FOR APPROX 6 WEEKS, take medications & purchase medical equipment per pulmonologist. Daughter staying with me also became ill & needed medical attention. Floors were scratched & gouged, couches stained & ruined, rugs ruined, floor lamps broken, lightbulbs & globes smashed, trash left. Furniture overturned in attic + access obstructed. Cracks were made in walls & ceilings + final PLASTERING STILL NOT COMPLETED. Workers were constantly taken off job, were late, no shows, walked off job. Tasks were always being rescheduled. Eli was nasty when I demanded work be finished per contract. Construction debris dumped in driveway is still there. Workers told me not in their contract to remove trash BUT IT’S IN MY CONTRACT. MANY THIN GS WERE RUINED & had to be thrown out, including vacuum, toasters, rugs, bedding, towels, light fixtures & bulbs, floor lamps, kitchen items & utensils, everything exposed in bathrooms & bedrooms + more. Home phone's been disconnected for weeks. Wifi was off for 10 days. Had to buy special lead wipes and lead detergent to try to save some items & environmental co. will check & remediate lead that got into house from construction. Some lights still turn off/some flicker. Bathroom fans won't stay shut off in wind. MOST PROMISES WERE BROKEN. WORST EXPERIENCE, EVER & STILL NOT FINISHED!!!

Professional tech was dedicated to getting the job done before leaving even after hours. Our generator would not crank, and we were concerned with possible power outage in the next day or two. He got us up and running. He was so polite and respectful.
