Hired to replace several windows. Quality work for a fair price. Vini was on time and very professional. Would be happy to work with his company again on future projects.

Deck rebuild Nov, 2018
I hired VS construction to rebuild my 2nd floor deck railings, and repair deck flooring. Vinny was wonderful to work with. He always communicated his times he would arrive and he was always there! His work was amazing. He adhered to the given timeline and each day he cleaned the work area. I plan on having Vinny return in the spring and do additional carpentry work. I would gladly recommend him for any job.

Permits
- Building permit records show that VS Construction has worked on 12 permitted projects.
We bought a new home from Vinny and Reggie in 2021 and VS Construction was the one on the building permit. Paid them well over a million for the house and a builder's warranty. They had done a complete remodel with a large addition, and the home looked beautiful on the surface. But within the first couple of months, we had serious problems with the quality of their work. At first Reggie was responsive and made several promises about getting things fixed. We waited and waited but they never delivered. Eventually we had no choice but to make the repairs on our own. This has cost us about $50,000 in the first year. Not to mention the stress, missed time off work, and anxiety of wondering what will go wrong next.
Through the course of bringing in professionals to diagnose problems and make repairs, we found out that Vinny and Reggie had done significant work without the required permits. And that the architect's stamp on the approved permit had been forged by someone they hired (Two-Fold Design Group). It's really frightening finding out that the structure of your home may have never been evaluated by a qualified person. They had also made structural changes from the approved plans, omitting columns to make a large open area, without filing an amendment with the building department. We had to bring in an architect to inspect and ensure the safety of the home.
One of the biggest problems was the basement (which was remodeled without permits) flooding due to the drainpipe from the house backing up and the way the plumbing was designed. They attempted to fix this but didn't diagnose the root cause, and it happened again hours later. We had to clean it up ourselves and buy dehumidifiers. Reggie said he'd reimburse us but never did. Then we left for our honeymoon, came back, and the basement flooded with waste from the toilets upstairs. It was absolutely disgusting. Once again Reggie promised repairs but then stopped responding. Vinny later claimed that we could have thrown something in the pipe and caused this, even though we had a video inspection that showed otherwise. The basement was completely finished and cost about $23,000 to repair. Thankfully our insurance covered part of it, and they documented the latent plumbing defect that Vinny and Reggie refused to acknowledge.
Our other major problems were with the HVAC systems (also installed without the right permits). First day in the house and the air conditioner leaked due to a basic installation error. Other installation errors led to our heat not working, the furnace flooding with rain from a roof vent, and furnace exhaust leaking inside the house. One of the air conditioners never worked right due to grossly undersized ductwork and mismatched condenser. The HVAC contractor they sent out agreed about the problems and again Reggie promised fixes but never acted on them. Getting things fixed ourselves cost over $8,000. What was really frustrating was that Reggie told us the contractor they originally used (LG HVAC) messed up other jobs too. Instead of accepting responsibility, we got stuck with their mess.
We've had to deal with freezing pipes, a tankless water heater that wouldn't stay on, ice forming on the inside of doors and windows, windows falling shut, and many other problems. We even had the gas company threaten to shut off our service because Vinny and Reggie built a deck over their meter, completely enclosing it and violating safety standards. Before closing on the house Reggie promised us glass shower doors in one of the bathrooms. Months later they reneged on this. Also, before closing our inspector found termites inside and Reggie told us they had been treated. Turns out that wasn't true, and we had to spend $1,200 for treatment, which Reggie offered to cover, but then never did.
Aside from the problems after moving in, they dragged out closing for over 20 days because the house didn't have power and permits were still open. Imagine trying to arrange selling and moving with that kind of uncertainty.
Vinny and Reggie advertise top quality work and that they are professionals. They say the buyer is the most important person to them. Our experience has been the opposite. They didn't follow through on their promises nor honor their warranty contract. Reggie has ignored us for over a year and Vinny has never been to the house to inspect a problem. While their houses may look nice, be wary of the things that you can't see (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) because they probably use the lowest bidder and lack the experience to notice mistakes. We trusted them and it's cost us dearly. There is no way we would recommend working with or buying from these builders.
