So start off, we hired W Wood and Associates to complete a backyard renovation a little over a year ago. Since then we have noticed mistakes and annoyances that continue to both us (especially for the amount we paid). To start off, they gave us a listed out a bid and the price was fair, so we went with them. From the start, they just kept on delaying. We had blue prints for them to follow, and had to constantly double check their work, because they would not follow the blue prints, which would throw off the entire backyard. Then we had to keep on pestering them to come back and finish the job! They always had some excuse (mainly there was a bigger/better paying job that took priority). Then, when they finally laid the concrete, they did not let us know the type of concrete it was going to be. Ended up being very aggregated and rough to walk on (has caused several wounds on our kids because if they fall it's like falling on asphalt). Also, it is impossible to clean without power washing, as sweeping almost does nothing. In the end, they forgot to do stuff that they promised on the bid and also promised in person (electrical conduit, outdoor outlet, lights on the patio cover). Quality of the work was ok, but there are obvious mistakes in a few places, but I didn't want to deal with it after the fact, because I knew it would just be a headache and a waste of time to get them to come back. All in all, I would not recommend W Wood and Associates for a personal project (they might want to just stick to commercial).
