Hired to renovate our Santa Cruz house and quite literally every single thing he did was done incorrectly/poorly and dishonestly. Examples:
1) installed plumbing for new shower head with wand. Capped the pipe for the wand and used the pipe for the head for both such that, while you're supposed to be able to turn one or the other on, after his installed you had both on or neither.
2) installed new insulation under the house. Was supposed to and was paid for entire house, but only did the portion visible from the access hatch to the subfloor... and he put it in upside down, creating a fire hazard (note that the insulation itself states what side should be up).
3) installed new doors throughout the house... half of them do not close within a year of the install because he didn't anchor them to the studs sufficiently such that the door frames settled.
4) upon settling our financials with him at the end of the project, the price miraculously increased (what a surprise)... when asked the reason, he stated (with a witness): "If I told you the real price up front, you wouldn't have hired me."
