    Basement and bathroom remodel
    $13,000

    DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. We hired him for a remodel post flood and we his man is a scam artist and then some. They redid all of the sheet rock on my nursery so fast and it was great but done by a sub-contractor, not himself, which is why we hired him for our basement remodel. He gave us a cheep quote which should’ve been our red flag because of how much cheaper it was than literally any other company. He was personable and friendly but took long to get the quote to us. From then on it was horrible. He asked us for 50% upfront for materials, which we were okay with. But then said that was cutting it closed and asked for extra. We gave him $13k. He subcontracted out to guys that cut corners and did everything terrible. They worked for 1 week and then vanished, I didn’t hear from him or the other guys in 3 weeks. He finally came and had to pull out 50% of the work the other guys did, then told us they blew his budget and he needed more money. We said no, he told us it would take longer to make up the profits as he had none of the money we gave him . He started ghosting us, came up with excuse after excuse as to why he couldn’t make it. After months of this, he told us it was taking to much of his time and he “didn’t feel like doing it anymore”. We asked for our money back, and only after having a lawyer look into him and threaten to sue for the full amount did he finally agree to pay us back some of the money. Now that he’s been gone we had other professionals come in that have had to pull out over 50% of the work DeWaun did himself. Had I not had professionals come back, I would’ve had a second flood as none of the plumbing was done correctly. And to top it all off, they unplugged my deep freezer and forgot to plus it back in for weeks, until everything had gone completely rotten. They did sheet rock, sanding, and didn’t cover anything leaving my couches and other furniture COVERED in drywall dust that will now require professional cleaners to get out.
