We had a terrible experience with this painter. Did an extremely poor job. Inparticular, paint on our balcony was peeling and specifically pointed out to Doug. Less than ten months after he painted it, the paint is peeling. He told me the wood was "failing" and not his fault and he took no responsibility. I maintain that if the wood had been prepped properly the paint would have adhered or he could have told me the wood was failing and could be repaired at the time it was painted.
