    New Pool Construction
    $40,000

It took Spado Pools over two years to complete a 15x30 pool. Below is a timeline of events and information on the worst pool building experience of my life.

The "contract" was signed and a check was made out to Decker Custom Pools on 2/26/2019. There was no movement in the backyard until July and it was explained that permitting was holding our job up. Later to find the permits were not applied for until 9/4/2019.

The next check was written to Decker Custom Pools on 7/1/2019 for the pool excavation. Again, there was little movement after that with multiple excuses as to why his crew could not make it to my job.

The pool was formed and gunite was poured around November 2019 with the next check being written to Jordan Decker on 11/26/2019. In early January 2020 Jordan had contracted workers come to do the tile job and a check was written to Jordan Decker (listed as cash) on 1/22/20.

The equipment was installed later in January and a check was written to Spado Pools on 1/27/20. It was explained that a different company was coming because Decker Pools was busy at other jobs. They finally filled my pool in April of 2020 and disappeared, not answering any calls or texts. This left me to balance pool chemicals and complete the rest of the mess they left behind (listed below).

On 7/21/20 I received a call from Orlando Spado, owner of Spado Pools, (very unprofessionally) asking for final payment on my completed pool. Once I explained that the pool was far from finished, the permits were still open and there was multiple things needed addressed he assured me Jordan Decker would finalize everything quickly. Orlando Spado then told me that he took over the pool prior to the finish being done to complete the job, because Decker could not finish it. This was the first I heard of this and no change of contractor was explained or approved by me or my wife. That was the last I heard from either party for six months.

There are multiple things that were supposed to be done by the pool contractor that I completed due to lack of communication, crews not showing up and/or broken promises.
    Just to list a few:
I replumbed my well pump that was sitting on the side yard, rotting for over a year.
I filled a channel on my exterior wall (with stucco and paint) that was dug for the pool light conduit.
I paid for and balanced all the chemicals in my pool once it was filled in March 2020 (but was told the company would balance chemicals the first month due to the finish not being cured).
I had to repair and fix multiple fence panels that were taken down and ruined from sitting for over a year.
My contract states the pool motor was to be a two speed high efficient motor, there is a single speed motor installed.
The baby gate fence plugs are the wrong color.

Although some of these issues seem minuscule, I feel we have been very fair and timely in our payment schedule and also extremely taken advantage of.

In August 2020 I contacted the city of Port St Lucie to find the details of the permit and I was explained there were multiple issues that needed fixed prior to a final inspection (failed electrical survey, failed pool deck survey, missing termite inspection, etc.). They explained there were three or four failed surveys that were not corrected and the permit would expire on 9/11/20. The actual pool deck was poured prior to being inspected and the grounding/bonding was failed per the building department.

I have documented text conversations with excuses why the crews never showed up for multiple appointments and times lines of all listed above. We were told in February 2019 that this pool would be done in May 2019. The final pool permit was finally closed in July of 2021 (more than two years after singing the "contract") and only because the house was for sale and they were pressured by realtors in all directions.

This company will promise you the world and provide you with an excuse a week as to why they cannot fulfill these promises. I couldn't recommend this company any less to anyone looking to build a pool.
